🚶‍♀️💙 Every Step Counts… But We Still Need Your Help 💙🚶‍♂️

The minutes are building, the trainers are getting muddy, and the dogs are starting to look very pleased with themselves 🐕

Our team at Circle Case Management are deep into the 10,000 Minute Walking Challenge, putting in the steps throughout March to support James’ Running Frame Campaign. From countryside walks to treadmill sessions, the team are showing up every day to help make something incredible happen.

But here’s the truth…
All those minutes only make a real difference if we can turn them into donations that fund running frames for children with cerebral palsy.

Running frames give children the chance to experience freedom of movement, independence, and the pure joy of running. Something many of us take for granted.

So while the team keeps walking… we’re asking you to help push this campaign over the finish line.

💙 If you can spare even a few pounds, it will make a real difference.

Stepping Forward: Celebrating 10 Years with Purpose!
This year marks a very special milestone for Circle Case Management — our 10th birthday.
For a decade, we have supported individuals and families with compassion, expertise and dedication. As we reflected on how to celebrate this achievement, we knew we wanted to do something that represented who we are: a team committed to improving lives.
So we decided to take even more steps together, and turn them into big strides for charity.
Throughout March, Mandy Bryant will lead our Case Managers, Assessors, Experts and Head Office team as they join together to complete 10,000 minutes of walking nationwide, Mandy has even persuaded the Directors Pippa Bird Richard Thorp Yvonne Spijkerman to drop the laptops and don their trainers, (not literally before anyone tells IT).From countryside paths to coastal routes, treadmills to (possibly) wellies, every step contributes to a collective goal.
But this challenge is about far more than minutes.
We are walking in support of James’ Running Frame Campaign. James, a determined and inspiring athlete with cerebral palsy, discovered frame running — a sport that enables people with mobility challenges to experience speed, independence and exhilaration. The impact it has had on his life has been transformative.
Now, James is raising funds to establish an inclusive frame running club. His vision is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where children and adults of all abilities can access specialist equipment, build confidence and experience the joy of movement.
We have been inspired by his determination and by the incredible frame running community who have already loaned four frames to help get the club started.
As a team, we are proud to support this initiative in our 10th year.
If you would like to help us celebrate by supporting James’ campaign, please donate here:

Together, we can ensure our 10th birthday leaves a lasting legacy, or at least 10,000 steps towards it.

When introducing case management to a client, those conversations can sometimes feel challenging.
Pippa Bird, Clinical Director and Head of Case Management at Circle Case Management, has created a short, accessible video explaining what a case manager does — without medical, clinical or legal jargon.
It clearly shows:
The role of a case manager.
How they can support and guide clients.
And, most importantly, that the client is always the focus.
This is a great resource for solicitors to watch themselves and to share with clients when discussing whether to instruct a case manager, helping build understanding and confidence from the outset.
Watch the video and feel free to share it with clients when it helps support those important conversations:

⛔ Only 1 in 4 disabled children in the UK regularly take part in sport.

⛔70% of disabled children want to be more active — but can’t.

⛔Physical activity reduces symptoms of anxiety/depression by up to 30%.

⛔Frame running enables independent movement — often for the first time.

In Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury work, we often deal with cases worth tens — sometimes hundreds — of thousands of pounds.

Yet for many disabled children, access to sport comes down to something much smaller:

A running frame costing £1,500–£3,000.

Right now, fewer than 25% of disabled children in the UK regularly participate in sport — with lack of equipment one of the biggest barriers.

This video shows what happens when that barrier is removed.

Frame running enables children with conditions like cerebral palsy to move independently — often for the first time — with clear benefits:

• Improved strength, mobility and rehabilitation outcomes

• Increased confidence and independence

• Reduced isolation and stronger social engagement

• Measurable positive impact on mental health

We currently have children on a waiting list.

Not because of clinical need.

Not because of lack of motivation.

But because there aren’t enough frames.

As Circle Case Management marks 10 years, our team is completing a 10,000-minute walking challenge to support James’ Running Frame Campaign — building an inclusive club with access to this life-changing equipment.

For those working in litigation and rehabilitation, the comparison is simple:

A relatively small contribution can deliver a direct, immediate and visible outcome in a child’s life.

A life-changing running frame costs just £1,500–£3,000.

The barrier isn’t ability. It’s access.

Let’s remove the barrier — and get these children moving.

When capacity is in question, the quality — and approach — of the assessment is critical.

Nicky, a highly experienced Occupational Therapist and valued member of our MCA Team at Circle Case Management, delivers independent Mental Capacity Assessments grounded in the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and therapeutic best practice.

Her substantial experience spans complex physical and mental health needs including traumatic brain injury, Huntington’s disease, schizophrenia, dementia, borderline personality disorder and fluctuating capacity.

By integrating Occupational Therapy principles into MCA work, Nicky:

• Optimises supported capacity through carefully graded assessments
• Implements appropriate reasonable adjustments (visual aids, chunking, Easy Read materials, interpreters, sensory adjustments and more)
• Provides clear, structured and defensible reports suitable for litigation

Independent assessments are frequently required where:

• Capacity to litigate is questioned
• Deputyship (property & finances) is in issue
• Testamentary capacity is challenged
• LPAs are being created, amended or revoked
• Residency, care, gifting or contact decisions are disputed
• There is conflicting professional opinion regarding capacity

For solicitors and professional deputies, this is robust, person-centred assessment with autonomy and evidential strength at its core.
