We had a fantastic trip out to the wonderful Millers Farm Shop for delicious coffee and cake, and even a bit of shopping in preparation for Halloween! ☕🍰👻

All are welcome to come along to The Check House Care Home on Tuesday 28th October from 11am to pick up their complimentary takeaway coffee and pastries - a small gesture from us to show our appreciation for the incredible work you do 💪

Introducing the winners of our September staff awards! ⭐️

Firstly, the Employee of the Month is Senior Care Assistant Gemma, who has been an integral part of our care team for almost 20 years! Gemma always works incredibly hard and she is one of the most reliable people you will ever meet. 💪

And the winner of the Management Recognition Award is Lead Care Assistant Claire, one of the longest-serving staff members here at Check House - she has been here for over 30 years! Claire is being recognised for always supporting her colleagues and the residents in every way possible, and for always helping out every department in the home. 🤩

Congratulations, and keep up the amazing work! 🏆

We had a busy weekend here at The Check House Care Home 👏

The wonderful activities team made a brilliant Autumn sensory tray 🍁

We played another fun home-made game, the Higher or Lower Game, with many residents joining in for some friendly and spirited competition 🏆

The residents also spent a relaxing time making some beautiful birthday cards for their friends ✒️

We had a great time making some spooky decorations for our upcoming Halloween party (watch this space for more details to follow) 🎃

And last, but certainly not least, we welcomed back our wonderful harpist Cheryl, who hasn't been in for a little while after injuring her wrist in the summer. We are delighted to have her back and are looking forward to her next performance in November 🎼

Every day is a day here at The Check House Care Home, but yesterday was especially brilliant as we had an incredible with singing, dancing and karaoke on our fantastic big screen and sound system 😀

Today, 10th October, is World Mental Health Day.

Living with dementia, or supporting someone who is, can affect every part of our lives. It brings challenges that aren’t always visible, and that’s why looking after your mental health and wellbeing is so important.

The latest here at The Check House Care Home was another roaring success, with a delicious spread of cakes, and live entertainment from the energetic Paul Stevens!

Make sure you come along to the next Memory Cafe on Monday 17th November (we can provide local transport if required - just let us know and we will be happy to help!)
