🎄Christmas Jumper Day 2025🎄

This coming Thursday 11th December we are wearing our Christmas jumpers once again, this time to raise money for the amazing Save the Children UK

Residents, staff and visitors can wear their Christmas jumpers in exchange for a small donation to this very worthy charity.

Hot chocolate cones also remain on sale at £2 each.

We can't wait to see all your brilliant Christmas jumpers!

Come along to The Check House Care Home tomorrow from 11am for our next Blue Light Breakfast!

Come and grab a complimentary coffee and some pastries. It's our way of showing thanks for the amazing work you do!

Yesterday evening we enjoyed a brilliant trip up to Millers Farm Shop for late night shopping!

We saw Father Christmas and live music by the Jurassic Coasters. A brilliant evening was had by all and we can't wait to go again next Christmas!

🎄 Elf Day at The Check House Care Home🎄

We have had an absolutely wonderful Elf Day here at The Check House Care Home!

The staff and residents all looked amazing in their Christmas clothes and the bake sale was a smash hit. We managed to raise a whopping £118 which will be donated equally between the Alzheimer's Society and our charity of the year, the Make-A-Wish UK

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Your hard work and care means so much ❤️

It's hard to disagree that our Christmas tree looks absolutely magical, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our incredible residents.

The home has been decorated beautifully throughout, and we are really getting in to the festive spirit now!!!

🎄Elf Day is nearly here!🎄

This coming Wednesday 3rd December is Elf Day from the Alzheimer's Society

We are encouraging staff, residents and visitors to wear Christmas clothing (elf-themed would be perfect but anything Christmassy will be fantastic!)

We are accepting donations of 50p or £1 which will be split equally between the Alzheimer's Society and our charity of the year, the amazing Make-A-Wish UK.

There will also be a bake sale. Any donations of homemade or shop-bought cakes will be greatly appreciated.

And finally, our wonderful residents have made these delicious hot chocolate cones which will be on sale all this week for £2 each.

Please join us in spreading some festive cheer and to raise as much as we can for two very worthy causes!

Pampering manicures are one of the best ways to enjoy a cold, wintry afternoon!

This afternoon we are watching Chicken Run (2000), a modern animated classic!

We can hardly think of a better way to spend a chilly afternoon than being wrapped up in front of our amazing cinema screen with some drinks and snacks.

We have had a truly remarkable few days here at The Check House Care Home.

World Kindess Day highlighted how kind and loving our amazing staff are every single day.

The staff wrote letters of kindness for every resident and the response was heartwarming.

We went around the entire Home with this incredible Kindness Trolley, full of delicious sweets and treats, to hand deliver our letters of kindness.
