We've had an action-packed weekend here at The Check House Care Home, with lots going on courtesy of our wonderful Activities team.

We have a huge range of homemade games and stimulating sensory activities.

We were delighted to finally be able to get out in to the garden to see the daffodils in bloom.

And finally, a very Happy Birthday to Kathleen!

It's almost time for our next Blue Light Breakfast!

Once again we are welcoming all Blue Light workers in to The Check House Care Home on Tuesday 3rd March from 11am for complimentary tea, coffee and pastries, to show our appreciation for the incredible work you do! 🍰☕💪🙌

Our Chinese New Year celebrations will continue until the Spring Festival next Tuesday 3rd March.

We had an amazing tea party yesterday with a huge selection of sweet treats and fortune cookies.

The Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday in China and many East Asian cultures, marking the end of winter and the start of spring.

The celebration is focused on family reunions, honouring ancestors, and wishing for good fortune, characterized by red decorations, fireworks, and the gathering of families for a reunion party!

The Together Project is the national charity that connects generations through joy-filled community activities.

Every month, we take part in Crafting Connections, an intergenerational project which connects our residents to children to share artwork and stories!

The residents had a brilliant time doing their artwork this morning, and we can't wait to see what the children send back!

This morning we have greatly enjoyed watching local athlete Marcus Wyatt competing in the men's skeleton heats at the Winter Olympics 2026

We have had such a lovely morning at our latest Memory Café, with live entertainment from talented harpist Cheryl.

It was such a treat to listen to some beautiful music, with fresh tea and coffee, complete with a delicious selection of cakes and biscuits.

We can't wait for our next Memory Café! Make sure you keep checking our page for details, as all are welcome to join the fun!
