We’re pleased to announce the launch of the D5 RIID-SIM Radiation Training Simulator, developed in collaboration with Argon Electronics. The simulator provides realistic, source-free radiation detection training for defence, border security and emergency response teams, enabling operators to build confidence using the device in a safe training environment.

By combining Argon Electronics’ expertise in simulation systems with Kromek's advanced radiation detection technology, the D5 RIID-SIM delivers a highly realistic training solution that mirrors real-world operation.

🔬✨ British Science Week 2026 | 6 - 15 March 2026 ✨🔬 At Kromek, science isn’t just something we celebrate for a week, it’s at the heart of everything we do.

From advancing radiation detection technologies that help protect national security, to enabling earlier and more accurate disease detection in healthcare, our work is built on the foundations of STEM: curiosity, innovation and problem-solving.

That’s why we’re proud to support the spirit of British Science Association’s British Science Week, a nationwide celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths.

STEM education is critical to:
• Inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers
• Building the skills needed for future industries
• Solving global challenges through innovation
• Creating opportunities across diverse communities

Throughout the week, there are fantastic free activity packs and classroom resources available to support schools, families and educators:

We’re pleased to welcome Kerry Russell to the team as our new Strategic Sales and Business Development Manager.

In her new role, she will focus on strengthening customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting the continued expansion of our CBRN capabilities in key markets. As global security challenges continue to evolve, strong commercial leadership is essential to ensuring that innovative detection technologies reach the organisations that rely on them most.

The evolving CBRN landscape demands innovation, collaboration, and trusted partnerships. I’m looking forward to working closely with our customers and partners to strengthen relationships and help deliver advanced detection solutions that make a real difference.”

It’s been great to see such strong engagement across the CBRNe Summit this week. Our team Michael Stephenson, Strategy & Commercial Director (CBRN), and José Jimenez, Sales - Europe, have had some really valuable conversations while sharing a stand with our distributor, SCOPEX.

We've enjoyed meeting with customers and partners including Observis Oy, Bruhn NewTech, SafeAware, Smiths Detection, 908 Devices, Argon Electronics (UK) Ltd, and David Crouch.

Thanks to Martyn Hill at Intelligence-Sec for a great event, bringing the community together and delivering a fantastic event. The expertise, discussions and collaboration across the industry over the last few days has been inspiring.

We’re proud to continue supporting St Margaret’s Centre, Kromek’s chosen charity 💙

Recently, Kromek colleagues presented St Margaret’s with a £500 donation, raised through proceeds from the Kromek tuck shop and a range of staff fundraising activities. The cheque was presented by Natalie Heslop on behalf of Kromek to Lisa Harrison, Centre Manager at St Margaret’s.

This latest contribution brings our total donations to over £2,000 in the last four years, something we’re incredibly proud of.

Our support goes beyond fundraising. Kromek colleagues have also volunteered their time to:
- Redecorate St Margaret’s offices, craft workshop and counselling suite
- Carry out major improvements to the Centre’s allotments, which provide fresh produce for the on-site café and help support service users 🌱

St Margaret’s Centre plays a vital role in supporting adults experiencing mental health challenges, helping to improve health and wellbeing across County Durham through recovery activities, programmes and courses that build confidence, skills and resilience.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, and to St Margaret’s Centre for the important work they do in our local community.
