Naloxone is a life-saving medication which temporarily reverses the effects of op**te overdoses, including he**in, methadone, fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Naloxone works by blocking the opioid receptors in the brain, restoring breathing back to normal within minutes.

Naloxone is safe and easy to use, available in 2 different forms. Naloxone injection can be injected into muscle (Prenoxad) or used as a nasal spray (Nyxoid).

‼️CAUTION‼️

Please be aware of contaminated batches of he**in circulating in and around the Southport area as well as areas of Cheshire and Merseyside. There have been a number of overdoses resulting in hospitalisation and at least one fatality.

When using, follow this advice to keep yourself as safe as possible:
🔺Do not use alone – Make sure someone that you trust is with you and that you have Naloxone kits at the ready.
🔺Go low and slow – Be cautious about where you source your supply from, and of the drugs you are using.
🔺Don’t mix drugs – Using more than one drug increases the risk of overdose, including using while drinking alcohol.
🔺Look after your friends – Keep an eye our for signs of overdose EG: Loss of consciousness, shallow or erratic breathing, gurgling or choking sounds, bluish tint to lips, fingertips, or skin.
🔺Be Prepared to call for an ambulance IMMEDIATELY if someone overdoses and give them Naloxone if able to do so.
