🧠 Myth-Busting Monday

❌ “Vaccines overload the immune system.”

Vaccines do not overload your immune system.

Every day, your immune system safely responds to thousands of germs. Vaccines simply teach your body how to recognise and fight specific infections safely.

Vaccination protects:
• You
• Your family
• Vulnerable members of the community

All vaccines offered in the UK go through strict safety testing and monitoring under the National Health Service programme.

If you have questions about vaccines, please contact the practice — we’re happy to discuss any concerns.

This morning alone, one of our GPs had 4 patients not attend their appointments. These missed appointments could have been used for other patients needing care.

If you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your appointment so we can offer it to someone else.

Your cooperation helps us provide care to as many patients as possible. Thank you.

🧠 Myth-Busting Monday

❌ “If my blood pressure was high, I’d feel it.”

High blood pressure (hypertension) often has no symptoms at all.

That’s why it’s sometimes called the “silent” condition.

The only way to know is to check it.

Untreated high blood pressure increases the risk of:
• Heart attack
• Stroke
• Kidney disease

If you’re over 40, it’s recommended to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Many pharmacies offer free checks, or you can book with the practice.

Learn more via the National Health Service website or speak to us.

March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
It’s important to know the signs and symptoms – especially as risk increases with age. Most cases develop in men aged 50 or older and prostate cancer is more common in Black men.
Prostate cancer often develops slowly, so there may be no symptoms for many years.
Early diagnosis and treatment can save lives. Contact your GP if you notice any changes in your body or something doesn’t feel right.
