🌿 Create & Thrive – This Wednesday 🎨
This week we’ll be exploring patience and calming the nervous system through a relaxing creative activity called dip-dot pattern painting. Using small dots of colour to build patterns can help slow the mind, bring focus, and create a sense of calm.
You don’t need to be artistic – this space is about process, not perfection. Just come as you are and enjoy a gentle, creative moment.
Alongside our main activity there will also be:
🧩 Lego
🎨 Colouring & crafts
✨ Diamond art
🧸 Playdough
🎲 Games & jigsaws

And of course refreshments, a warm homemade soup and a cob to share together 🥣

💛 Create & Thrive is for all ages
• Adults looking for connection and wellbeing support
• Anyone who would like a calm, creative space
• Parents and children who are home educated
• Anyone who may be feeling lonely, overwhelmed, or in need of community

🌿 Exciting News for Revive Counselling & Wellbeing CIC 🌿

From Monday, Revive Counselling & Wellbeing CIC will be providing a school counselling service at Selston High School.

We are delighted that Amanda, our School Counsellor, will be taking on this role and supporting students within the school community.

We are really excited to continue expanding our support services and to be fulfilling our vision of bringing much-needed mental health and wellbeing support to Selston and the wider Ashfield community.

Supporting young people early and creating safe spaces to talk is so important, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this work. 💛

🌿💛 Create & Thrive – 💛🌿

Community, Connection & Kindness

This week at Create & Thrive we are coming together to make fabric heart keyrings — handmade by the community, for the community.

Each heart will be made from upcycled jeans (too worn for the charity shop) and stuffed with leftover wool ends that would otherwise have been discarded ♻️ These hearts will be gifted to women admitted to Kings Mill Hospital around Mother’s Day — a small act of kindness that reminds someone they are thought of 💛

💡 Acts of kindness benefit everyone – they boost happiness, reduce stress, and strengthen our sense of belonging.

Alongside sewing, participants can enjoy:
🧱 Lego therapy activities
🎨 Playdough creative table
💎 Diamond art
🎲 Board and group games

Create & Thrive is open to all ages:

Adults seeking community, friendship, or support with their wellbeing

Parents and children who are home educated

Young people with anxiety or other mental health challenges

At 3pm we will be sharing a homemade soup and a roll, building community while enjoying a warm meal together 🥣✨

Creativity. Compassion. Connection. That’s Create & Thrive 💛🌿

At this Wednesdays Create & Thrive, it was all about bringing life back into balance ✨
We explored ways to nurture our social, emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing — taking time to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

A special highlight was Mandy guiding us through Fill the Gap Braiding — such a beautiful, hands-on way to create, connect, and learn something new together 💛 And

Dawn absolutely spoiled us with a delicious warm soup and freshly baked rolls… there’s nothing quite like sharing homemade food in good company!

The best part? The sense of community. The conversations, the laughter, the encouragement — doing life together makes all the difference.

We’d love for you to join us next week as we continue creating space to grow, restore, and thrive. Come along — there’s a seat (and a warm bowl of soup!) waiting for you 🥣💬✨

🌿 Create & Thrive – A Gentle Weekly Space for All Ages including Young People & Families 🌿

Our Create & Thrive weekly wellbeing group has become a welcoming space for young people and their parents — particularly those who are home educated or who may be struggling to attend school due to school-based anxiety or other mental health challenges.

We understand that traditional settings don’t work for everyone. Create & Thrive offers a relaxed, supportive environment where young people can:

🎨 Join in with the main creative wellbeing activity
🧩 Take things at their own pace
🧱 Use Lego
🌈 Explore playdough and sensory materials
🖍️ Enjoy colouring
🎲 Play games
🧩 Spend time with jigsaws
💛 Simply be, without pressure

There is no expectation to participate in a particular way — young people can engage as much or as little as feels comfortable.

Sessions are supported by a qualified psychotherapist and an art therapist, both experienced in working with children and young people, especially those experiencing anxiety, emotional distress or school avoidance.

Where helpful, Revive can provide onward referrals to our counselling or art therapy services in order to provide more tailored support.

If you’re a parent looking for a gentle step back into social connection, creativity and emotional support, Create & Thrive could be a safe place to begin.

Please feel free to share with families who may benefit 💚

Create & Thrive – Week 4 🌿 Slow Down & Be

This week we’re gently pressing pause.

We’ll be exploring a calming Safe Place visualisation and creating a collage or art piece to represent your own sense of safety and ease. When we slow our breathing and imagine peaceful places, we help our nervous system rest and reset — and creativity helps strengthen that calm.

Alongside the main activity, there will be plenty of relaxed options to choose from:
🕯️ Safe Place visualisation & collage or art piece
🎨 Colouring & mindful making
👐 Sensory materials, Lego & games
🍰 Cake & drinks
💛 Space to pause, chat, or simply be

This is a gentle, welcoming space for all ages — no experience needed. You’re free to join in as much or as little as feels right.

👉 Young people must be accompanied by an adult.
📍 St Mary’s Church Warm Welcome Café, Churchill, Westwood, NG16 5QG
🕒 1.30–3.30pm
📅 Wednesday 18th Feb 2026

Come and be still. Breathe. Create.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down ✨

Children’s Mental Health Week | This is My Place 💛

This week, we’re celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week and the powerful theme of “This is My Place”.

Belonging means feeling safe, valued, and knowing that you matter. At Revive, we understand how important it is for children and young people to have spaces where they feel that this is their place — where they can truly be themselves.

Belonging isn’t about fitting in; it’s about being accepted for who you are and feeling supported.

Every child deserves spaces where they feel heard, understood, and included. This week — and every week — we’re committed to helping children and young people build confidence, connection, and a strong sense of belonging 💫

At Revive, we offer counselling and art therapy for children and young people, creating safe, supportive spaces where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted.

📩 Get in touch to find out how we can support your child.

Let’s keep the conversation going and work together to create communities where everyone feels that this is their place.
