Today marks the start of the Chinese New Year which runs until 3rd March.

This year is the Year of the Horse. People born in the Year of the Horse are seen as being energetic, lively and independent. They generally have a strong sense of adventure and a desire for freedom. They are usually sociable, quick-witted, hardworking and adaptable though can sometimes be impatient and impulsive.

Previous year's of the horse include 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014. If you or perhaps your children were born in one of these years, do your recognise these personality traits? Let me know in the comments.

Wow, this is such an interesting piece of research

A 2024 study conducted by Kokubun et al. has revealed that continuous inhalation of Rose essential oil can increase the grey matter volume (GMV) of the whole brain and posterior cingulate cortex (PCC). The study was conducted on 50 healthy women, with 28 in the intervention group and 22 in the control group. The intervention group were asked to wear diluted Rose essential oil on their clothes for one month and the control group were given plain water. MRIs were taken before and after the intervention to monitor changes. This is the first study to show that continuous scent inhalation changes brain structure and could be of value in helping prevent brain atrophy and dementia.
