Welcome to Springfield, a beautiful home in the charming traditional seaside town of Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. Located on the East of the Island on a quiet road within short walking distance of both the beach and train station, Springfield is a stunning Edwardian building that has been carefully extended over the years, providing a comfortable and homely environment for residents. Springfield is equipped with 42 bedrooms and an attractive outside area, including a courtyard garden, patio and raised flower beds.

This morning we all enjoyed our children in need coffee morning.
A big thank you to everyone who baked cakes for us.

This afternoon we did a royal quiz, celebrating the king’s birthday.

Today was national kindness Day. We gave out roses,chocolate and beer to our lovely residents.
After lunch we were entertained by Bern who sang us songs from the 60s and 70s. Thanks to John for joining us for this event.

We all enjoyed baking some lemon and blueberries muffins this afternoon.
A big thank you to Rachel, our volunteer for baking with the residents.

We enjoyed some today and saving some to enjoy on our coffee morning.

Another action packed day here at Springfield Nursing Home.
This morning we had a Thi chi session with Tracey, we all enjoyed stretching and relaxing.

Then this afternoon we entertained by the brilliant Ck singers, who sang wartime songs for Remembrance Day.

A big thank you to Charlotte and the Ck singers for a very entertaining afternoon.

Our lovely resident Joan wanted to share her picture with everyone, of when she was a land girl.

This afternoon we enjoyed a horse racing afternoon.
We enjoyed playing our horse racing game, followed by watching some racing on the tiny tablet.
Chris and Matthew were our winners today.

This afternoon we enjoyed a group session on the VR headset.

We swam under water with Sharks and Dolphins, visited Brazil, Hong Kong and Greece.
We also watched a nature video.

We all love the technology.

Another great community chair exercise class on Wednesday.
Which takes place every other Wednesday at Springfield Nursing Home.

For anyone over 60.

This morning we got creative and made table decorations ready for Remembrance Day.

We had an active afternoon.
We enjoyed Balloon 🎈Tennis, the parachute game and throwing beanbags into a hoop.

We had another lovely afternoon of painting with Nina.
Today we painted poppies, ready for Remembrance Day.
we had a relaxing afternoon with our paints.

Whilst the ladies were painting, some of the chaps played Dominoes, with our volunteer, Rachel.
It was her 1st day and she was brilliant. 🙂

We had a wonderful songs of praise today.
Thank you to Jane for coming.
The residents really enjoyed it.
Joan said it was nice to sing the hymns that she knew.

This afternoon some of the ladies had their nails done, whilst others played Bingo.

We all enjoyed a karaoke sing along this afternoon.
We sang songs of abba, Beatles, Frank Sinatra and many more.

A big Thank you to Sarah and Jenny for singing for us as well.
