Today marks the end of my time at Studio 8, Ivy Lodge. I’ve been quiet about this as I’ve been processing! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, come for treatments and love and shared this journey. I first started sharing treatments at Ivy Lodge in 2019 🤩 I will miss the nature, all of you and the people I worked alongside.

Time to cocoon and see what comes 🐛

The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness around the impact of positive touch, aswell as the impact of not receiving regular, positive touch. It’s a deeply human instinct to try and heal in the very place we were hurt. We revisit the same situations, hope for a different outcome from the same people, and try to mend our broken pieces on the same ground where they shattered.

But there's a profound truth we must accept: you can't grow in the same place that broke you. The old environment is saturated with the energy of your pain. It's filled with triggers and memories that keep you tethered to the past, making it impossible to plant new roots.

True healing isn't about fixing what's broken in the old space; it's about finding new ground. It's about having the courage to walk away from what harmed you, to change your surroundings, and to seek out an environment where you are free to become a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Your growth depends on it.

I went to my garden this morning for some healing, and my healing came as a reminder.
Our old apple tree had a scar, a long silver seam where lightning once kissed its skin. The morning visitor, crow, had a wing slightly torn, but still it flew, crooked and glorious. The huge boulder sitting on the property corner had a new crack with its heart exposed to the rain. No shame in that, only the soft green moss curling into the wound like a lullaby softening sharp edges.

And I thought, how strange it is that we try so hard to be smooth, whole, forever young and untouched by life weather. But the wild things do not mend what isn’t broken. They do not polish their edges. They do not hide their histories. They simply go on. They bloom sideways. They sing with cracked voices. They are beautiful because they are honest. What is flawless, after all? Not the stone, not the sky, not this body, not this heart with its scars and wounds.

So today, I will not fix myself. I will walk with my uneven gait, laugh with my crooked smile, wear my flower crown, and let the moss find its way into every tender place. Perhaps the heart blooms best when it blooms uneven, but true.
