On Saturday 21 February, NexYouth proudly hosted our first community event focused on youth mental health and su***de prevention in partnership with our friends at HeatherHouse CC 💚
Together, we created a safe, welcoming space to raise awareness and spread hope across our community, working to break generational stigma around mental health!
We were honoured to be joined by friends from Kent Police, Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust and NHS Kent and Medway Talking Therapies who shared information, guidance and support with attendees throughout the day.
The Tree of Hope will remain at Heather House, where it is accessible to the public and where messages of hope can continue to be added over time, giving us a lasting reminder that no one is alone!
A huge thank you to Michelle and the incredible team at Heather House for your warmth, hospitality and belief in our work. Thank you to our stall holders and partners for standing with us, holding safe spaces and continuing to spread hope across communities like Swale.
We are also incredibly grateful to Swale Borough Council for funding this project through the Town Action Grant, alongside our Art in the Park project which ran in the summer of 2025. Our work simply would not be possible without the support of organisations like these who recognise the importance of mental health prevention, early intervention and community connection 💚
