Our Island doesn’t always get the best name, but one thing it never falls short on is its people. Time and time again, we see the community come together to support families at their hardest moments.

Seeing so many gather to pay their respects at funerals is incredibly moving and a reminder of the kindness, respect and togetherness that still runs strong here.

It’s a privilege to serve such a caring community. Thank you for the trust you place in us.

As Christmas and the New Year come to an end and everyones head back to work tomorrow, let’s try to carry some positivity with us into the year ahead.

Set a few small goals, be kind to one another, check in on those around you, and remember that even the toughest days can be made lighter with a smile or a kind word.

✨ Missing Loved Ones at Christmas ✨

I came across a song today and felt like I needed to share it with you all.

This time of year can feel especially hard. While people are talking about cosy nights, twinkling lights, and the magic of Christmas, many are quietly missing someone who should still be here.

An empty chair. A familiar laugh that’s no longer heard. A presence felt in every memory and tradition.

If Christmas feels different for you, please know you are not alone. It’s okay to smile, and it’s okay to feel sad. Grief doesn’t take a break for the festive season and neither does love.

We hold you and your loved ones in our thoughts this Christmas. 🤍

Sometimes families want something a little different…

This week we had the honour of helping a family find a very special vehicle for their loved one. Over the years we’ve seen many hearses, but this one truly stood out.

It was a privilege to help create a farewell that was personal, meaningful, and a true reflection of the life being celebrated.

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along yesterday afternoon and braved the cold. I’m honestly lost for words. I cannot thank you all enough for the love, support, and warmth you brought with you.

To see Minster Abbey filled with over 200 people was truly incredible. It means more than I can ever express.

This year, we chose The Wisdom Hospice as our charity, and thanks to the kindness and generosity of everyone who attended, we raised an amazing £333.21. Your support will make a real difference. ❤️

After a couple of days of negativity, let’s bring the focus back to something truly meaningful. ❤️

This evening is our first ever Service of Remembrance at 4:00pm in Minster Abbey. Let’s come together, fill the church with love, comfort and support, and lift our voices in carols as we remember those who mean the most to us.

Following the service, we warmly invite you to join us for mince pies and hot drinks.

Officers are appealing for information following the theft of a Christmas statue which was allegedly stolen from outside a business.
Kent Police was called at 1.33pm on Friday 5 December 2025 to a report of the theft of a nutcracker on Broadway, .
The figure, which is approximately five feet tall and has a value of £250, is believed to have been taken at around 1pm. It had stood in front of a funeral home to make visits more welcoming for bereaved people.
Two men, a 59 year old and a 39 year old, from Sheerness have been arrested in connection with the theft.
Detectives are now seeking anyone who might be able to assist their investigation and see the safe return of the stolen property to contact them.
Anyone who may have relevant information or CCTV footage should contact Kent Police on 01795 419119 quoting 46/208343/25.

🎄 Sadly Our Nutcracker Has Been Stolen 🎄

We are disappointed to share that someone has stolen our Nutcracker from outside the front of our funeral home.

Every year, we do our very best to make Christmas a little brighter for the children who visit us — creating a warm, welcoming space where they can feel comfortable, write letters to their loved ones in heaven, and find a bit of magic during a difficult time.

It’s upsetting that something meant to bring comfort and joy has been taken. If anyone has seen anything or knows where it may be, we would be grateful if you could let us know.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us — we won’t let this dampen our Christmas spirit. ❤️✨

✨ This Saturday – Our Service of Remembrance ✨
6th December • 4:00pm • Minster Abbey

As we approach this special weekend, we’d love to do one last heartfelt push to invite as many of you as possible to join us for our Service of Remembrance.

This is a gentle, uplifting afternoon where we come together to remember our loved ones, share a moment of peace, and fill the beautiful Minster Abbey with love, warmth and song. 💛

We’ll be singing together, lighting candles, and honouring the memories that mean the most and we would be truly honoured to have you with us.

After the service, please stay for tea, coffee and mince pies, a chance to talk, reflect, and support one another during this special time of year. ☕✨

Let’s fill the Abbey this Saturday and make it an evening of comfort, community, and remembrance.
