Brilliant run over and under Agden Rocher 8km in 1hr 15 mins. Great fun. Everyone is welcome to join us. Can't always promise driving rain though!

What... An... Achievement...

From not doing much running at all to completing an Ultra, for a great cause with Ultra4Charities. Ultra4Charities runs a series of Ultra's across the globe and donate to various Charities. So far, they have already raised over £200,000🤯

Why did they do this you may be asking yourselves? These 2 gents wanted to raise some funds for Veteran Charities. What better way to do that then jumping in the deep end and doing an Ultra... in 40° heat... in the desert... in Tunisia. Now that is something to be proud of 😎😎.

This Journey that started in February when Paul and Alisdair Challenged themselves into doing a Ultramarathon. Since that day they got kitted out, head to toe @ Accelerate for their upcoming running adventure and got some help from the Accelerate Physio and Coaching with Stu and Taylor.

Stuart worked with them both and created specialised training and strength plans to put them in the best possible position to take on this mammoth task. Taylor got hands on making sure that they were fit and ready with regular sports massages till the big day arrived. Then they jetted off to Tunisia and smashed it out of the park.

Here is what they both had to say about their journey so far:

Paul - 'The most amazing experience of my life. In February, I had not even done a Parkrun. By October I was in the Desert. We could not have done it without the help of all @ Accelerate. I have since signed up to go again in September 2026 in the Albanian Mountains when I'll be 68.'

Alisdair - 'Taking on this challenge was a emotional journey. I hadn't run when I signed up in February and to challenge myself to do a 50km was a great experience and I couldn't have done it without the experts of everyone down @ Accelerate!

On to the next challenge in Sept 26, taking on 100km in the mountains. Looking forward to taking on even more punishment from Stu 😁'

We'll certainly be looking forward to hearing about how they get on with this next challenge. Enjoy some well deserved rest!
