Who was it who said ‘I love it when a plan comes together?’ Was it Shakespeare or maybe it was some other wonderful leader from days of Yore…. Well, the last week has delivered a better gift than any that Santa and his minions at his Amazonian enclave could ever squeeze through my letter box.
I was at an event hosted by Westfield Health and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce lead by Dave Capper and Louisa Harrison-Walker earlier in the week. It was jammed full of like-minded folk from the Sheffield community seeking to find ways to create and implement holistic wellbeing throughout our city.
We all introduced ourselves and I shared how I am driven by a hatred of waste and so what drives me is making an impact on wasted human potential.
I shared how I tell people what I think they are made to do as soon as I can see it. They don’t always believe it as they are still in a bit of a pickle.
If we are to create meaningful sustainable change in others, we need to invest that belief we have in them, as they often don’t have any in themselves.
As if by magic, I got an email out of the blue this morning from a client from way back when we all lived in black and white. She had just realised how what I said about her being amazing in our first sessions had just landed.
Back then she was emotional, vulnerable and very unsure of herself, despite that, it was clear that this person had lost sight of who she was and what she was really made to do.
I told her that she is made to make an impact and will be leading a charity or community project that she will feel a connection with and end up changing lives.
On Monday she is on local telly, having launched a campaign to support the Ukrainian guests in the city but alongside that she has been active in her community coordinating food banks and tonnes of other wonderful things to help others.
She was very keen for me to share her story partly to inspire others that change is possible and also to help promote her passion, so if you catch Look North on Monday give yourself permission to be inspired by a caring, compassionate and truly amazing human being doing what she is made to do.
Happy Friday folks ❤️
