Top tips!!
Child's Pose (Balasana) is a gentle yoga posture that promotes relaxation and stretches various parts of the body. For us ladies use a cushion for lifting the head, arms away from chest or even rest on your forearms to allow you to comfortably breathe.
Hereβs how to do it:
1. **Start Position:**
- Begin on your hands and knees in a tabletop position. Your wrists should be aligned under your shoulders, and your knees should be aligned under your hips.
2. **Kneeling:**
- Exhale and bring your big toes together while widening your knees. Sit back on your heels. If your buttocks don't reach your heels, place the blanket between your thighs and calves for support.
3. **Extend Forward:**
- Inhale, and as you exhale, slowly lower yourself forward, resting your forehead on the mat. Your arms can be extended in front of you, palms down, or you can place them alongside your body with palms facing up.
4. **Relax:**
- Allow your shoulders to soften and relax. Stay in the pose for about 4 breaths to a few minutes, breathing deeply and allowing your body to relax.
5. **Release:**
- To come out of the pose, gently walk your hands back towards your body, lift your torso, and return to the tabletop position.
Tips:
- Make sure to breathe deeply and relax into the pose.
- If you have tight hips or knees, use props like cushions or blankets for added comfort.
- Modify the pose as needed based on your comfort level.
Child's Pose is a great way to relieve stress and tension, and it can be beneficial between more challenging yoga poses to reconnect with your breath.
