💜 Cotleigh 💜 Our residents at Cotleigh had a fantastic trip to Kelham Island Museum, exploring Sheffield’s rich industrial history and discovering all the fascinating exhibits. From vintage machinery to historic trams, there was so much to see and plenty of memories shared along the way!

💜 Springwood💜 Our residents have been getting into the Christmas spirit with a wonderful mix of creativity and fun. The ladies on Daisy Way spent the morning making their own Christmas-present themed artwork, using bright paints, ribbon bows and plenty of smiles — their beautiful creations brought so much joy to the room.

In the afternoon, our Primrose residents continued the festive fun by crafting colourful Christmas baubles with paper plates, confetti and sparkly ribbon. They rounded off the session with a cosy game of dominoes, making it a lovely, laughter-filled day for everyone. 🎄

💜 Knowle Hill 💜 Residents at Knowle Hill were treated to a fantastic magic show from Alex & George, and it was a hit from start to finish! Everyone got involved — joining in the tricks, laughing along, and soaking up the brilliant atmosphere 🎩

We’re delighted to share that Joe Hughes has been appointed as Sheffcare’s new Senior Registered Manager 🌟

Joe first joined Sheffcare back in 2009 as a Care Support Worker and has grown with us ever since. He’ll continue managing Grange Crescent in Nether Edge while taking on this new senior role across all nine of our Sheffield care homes.

Claire Rintoul, our Chief Executive, said:

“Joe will provide additional senior support across all homes, especially those facing specific challenges. This strengthened leadership structure reflects our commitment to high-quality care, continuous improvement and strong governance.”

Joe has consistently shown exceptional leadership, dedication and compassion. He became a Registered Manager at just 31 and is a brilliant example of the career progression available in social care. He brings a real passion for quality assurance and dementia care, always striving to ensure residents receive the very best support.

We’re looking for a Senior Cook to join our friendly, experienced team at Cotleigh Residential Home in Hackenthorpe.

🍳 What’s on offer:

Hours: 35 per week

Shifts: 7:30/8:30am – 3:30/4:30pm (includes alternate weekends & some bank holidays)

Pay: £13.76 per hour

As Senior Cook, you’ll lead our kitchen team to create tasty, nutritious meals that support our residents’ health and wellbeing. You’ll plan menus, prepare fresh meals, and keep everything running smoothly — from stock control to hygiene standards.

Has experience in a similar role (1+ year)

Understands food hygiene and dietary needs

Can lead, motivate, and work well in a small team

💜 Springwood 💜 Residents and staff at Springwood Residential Home spent a heartfelt day honouring those who served. The morning began with a touching poem and a minute’s silence, followed by a cheerful wartime singalong with Keely-May and some beautifully decorated shortbread.

In the afternoon, residents enjoyed a Remembrance Tea & Poetry session, sharing memories and stories over tea and freshly baked scones. Old photographs sparked lovely conversations about days gone by, and residents wrote the name of someone special they remember on a heart.

💜 Cotleigh 💜 Our residents at Cotleigh have been thoughtfully preparing for Remembrance Sunday over the past week, creating beautiful handmade poppies as a way to reflect, remember and honour those who served.

Today, everyone came together for a heartfelt celebration. With poppies proudly displayed, residents shared stories, observed the silence, and paid their respects to the brave men and women who sacrificed so much.

💜 Deerlands 💜The residents at Deerlands had some very special visitors this week! The adorable ponies from Smile Pony Therapies!

There were plenty of smiles, cuddles, and even a few happy tears as our residents got to spend time stroking and chatting to the gentle ponies. For many, it brought back wonderful memories of animals they’ve loved over the years.

Visits like this can have a truly positive impact, especially for people living with dementia. Gentle interaction with animals can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage communication, and bring real moments of joy and calm.

Thank you to the lovely team at Smile Pony Therapies for bringing such warmth and happiness to our home, you certainly brightened everyone’s day!

Do you have a caring nature and the confidence to support others through the night? We’re looking for Night Care Support Workers to join our teams.
This is a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference to the lives of older people, ensuring they feel safe, supported and respected throughout the night.

✨ In this role, you will:
✔️ Provide personal care tailored to individual needs
✔️ Administer medication during the night (after training)
✔️ Support residents emotionally, physically, and socially
✔️ Help keep the home clean, calm, and comfortable overnight
✔️ Respect residents' dignity, independence, and privacy
✔️ Act as Key Worker and lead officer on shift when needed
✔️ Keep accurate records and reports
✔️ Participate in training and occasionally work day shifts (up to 9/year)
