Cook with Us!

We’re looking for a Cook to join our team at Knowle Hill Residential Home, preparing traditional meals that feel like home. Your work will bring joy and nourishment to our residents every day.

Location: Knowle Hill, High Street, Beighton, S20 1HE
Hours: Full time, 35hrs per week, day shifts to include alternate weekends
Pay: £13.02 per hour

What makes this role special?
• You’ll prepare fresh, home-cooked meals with care
• You’ll adapt dishes to meet the individual needs of residents, like allergies or texture preferences
• You’ll be part of a small, supportive team in a not-for-profit care home

Who we’re looking for:
• A cook with kitchen experience in preparing meals
• A team player who enjoys making others happy through their cooking

💜 Knowle Hill 💜 Our residents at Knowle Hill had a lovely time getting creative with some Valentine’s-themed crafts 💕 There were lots of smiles, chats and beautiful handmade creations along the way!

💜 Springwood 💜 Our residents at Springwood Residential Home on Herries Road enjoyed a happy day of activities together last weekend. In the morning, they had fun baking jam tarts 🥧, with everyone getting involved in rolling pastry, cutting shapes and filling them with jam. The tarts were later enjoyed with a hot drink and a good chat ☕

In the afternoon, residents got creative with Valentine’s crafts ❤️, making paper plate hearts. Each one was unique, and there was lots of conversation, laughter and refreshments along the way, with support given where needed 💜

At Sheffcare, volunteers play an important role in creating warm and supportive communities for our residents.

This can be through creating conversation, shared activities or practical help within our care homes where our volunteers make a real difference to everyday life.

We are guided by our values of kindness, dignity, respect, independence and choice. These values shape how we support the people we care for and how we support our volunteers too. You don’t need special qualifications, maybe you have a special interest or useful skill that would help us and our residents, as well as a willingness to listen, being reliable and able to treat people with care and understanding.

Volunteering can be flexible and rewarding and we’ll support you in your role from the start. Many of our volunteers tell us they have found volunteering has helped with their confidence, connection and given them a real sense of purpose from being involved.

It was a wonderful way to welcome in 2026 and start the year on a high note 🥳

It was a brilliant way to start the New Year together!
