๐ง When movement meets massage: The secret to helping your class clients and members even more
Imagine this: youโre teaching a class, and you spot a client whose posture, tension, or stiffness makes you think, โIf only I could get my hands on you for an hour.โ
๐ค After 25 years as a massage therapist, Iโve lost count of the times Iโve had that thought โ and the difference Iโve been able to make when I followed through. Massage and movement arenโt rivals. Theyโre partners. I wouldnโt want to do one without the other.
๐ Hereโs why.
Some people donโt like hands-on adjustments in class โ but theyโll happily melt into a massage table. That private time gives them space to talk about whatโs happening in their body, ask questions about movement, or explore any aches they might feel. In a one-to-one situation, they may even allow you to guide them in ways theyโd never accept in a group.
On the flip side, I often have massage clients who need movement. A few stretches, mobility exercises, or strength exercises can make a huge difference to how they feel. If I can guide them into a class theyโll enjoy, they not only improve their flexibility and strength โ they reduce aches and pains, feel part of a community, and rediscover what their body can do.
The beauty of having both skills?
โ
You can help people in more ways, no matter their starting point.
โ
You build deeper trust and longer-lasting client relationships.
โ
You create multiple income streams and a more resilient business.
When movement meets massage, everybody wins โ and the people you serve are happier, healthier, and more confident in their bodies.
๐ If youโve ever thought, โI wish I could do more for my clients,โ learning massage might just be the missing link.
