In November, our staff team took a day away from the usual office routine to work on Share's new 5 year strategy and spend some quality time together!

We had a great day at , sharing and developing our ideas for the future of our service and then creating some art work together, which was fun and messy in equal measures! Look out for some of our pieces up around our building when you next visit! 🎨

We're already halfway through the summer holidays! We hope you're enjoying this time and the continued good weather. However, for many parents and carers, this can also be a time of exhaustion, overwhelm, and that nagging feeling that your own needs have been pushed to the bottom of the list.

Here’s the truth: you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Looking after your own mental health and wellbeing isn’t selfish — it’s essential for you and your kids.

Some simple ways to protect your headspace this summer:
- Plan small pockets of “you time” – even 10 minutes with a coffee and no interruptions can reset your mood.
- Get outside together – fresh air works wonders for everyone.
- Lower the bar – it’s okay if the house is messier, the routine is looser, or the meals aren’t Pinterest-worthy. Maybe even relax those screentime rules and stick on a movie, guilt-free.
- Stay connected – check in with friends or family, even if it’s just a quick text.

Remember: your wellbeing is the foundation for the memories you’re creating. Looking after yourself is looking after them.

If this summer feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. Be kind to yourself — you’re doing better than you think. 🌿

Today is International Self Care Day, a reminder that taking care of yourself isn't selfish and we all deserve to prioritise ourselves.

Self care is essential to maintaining good overall wellbeing and it will look different for each person. It could be going for a walk or reading a book; cooking a nutritious meal or listening to music. It might include taking a long relaxing bath or going to the gym.

Whatever it looks like for you, we want to encourage you to make a today! What are you going to do, to better look after yourself?
