As we come to the end of the year, it’s time to start shouting about what actually matters around here… our members. 💜

We’re kicking off our end-of-year Success Boards with four incredible women — and four very different wins (because success at B&A is never just about the scales).

✨ Debbie
Debbie joined us at the end of October and is already totally hooked. She joined to feel healthier and happier — and that’s exactly how she’s feeling. The weight loss? Just a cheeky little bonus 😉

💪 Lorraine
Lorraine has been with us for many years and recently injured her shoulder away from the gym. She was worried it might stop her training — but because we train in small groups and personalise every session, we’ve been able to work around her injury using guidance from her doctor and physio… and keep her moving safely and confidently.

👯‍♀️ Lisa
B&A is about getting fitter and healthier — but it’s also about connection. Lisa has found friendship, laughter, and support here, and that’s made her fitness journey so much more fun and sustainable!.

🌱 Yvonne
Alongside getting fitter, Yvonne has been working on another hugely important part of health — mental health. That inner work has had a powerful knock-on effect on her confidence, and watching that growth has been incredible.

Four women.
Four different journeys.
All equally powerful.

I’ve never hidden the fact that I became a PT to sort my own health and fitness first. Lord knows I wasn’t born loving burpees or broccoli 😅

I became a coach because I had my own struggles — and I still wobble now.

Some people might think that makes me a “bad PT.” 🤷🏼‍♀️
Maybe.

But honestly?
I think it makes me a better one.

Because I get it.
I understand our members.
I know what it feels like to fall off track… and I know how to get back on without the drama.

I actually started 2025 feeling a bit pants.
My habits had gone to pot.
My energy was low.
I didn’t feel like “me.”

So in January I made a promise to myself:
Get back to the B&A way —
• No extremes
• No guilt
• No punishment
• And absolutely NO cutting out fun

And guess what?
2025 has been a blast.
I’ve had an amazing year.

I didn’t say no to a night out, a meal out, wine or chocolate.

I lived my life — fully.

And I’m still ending the year feeling fit, strong, and healthy.

Because lasting results don’t come from restriction…
they come from consistency, kindness, and choices you can actually stick to.

So before you start googling “January cleanse,”
or planning to cut carbs, bread, sugar, joy, and your entire social life just know this:

You can get results without giving up your life.
You don’t need detoxes, misery, or extremes.

Yeah, it might take a bit longer.
But chuff me… it’s so much more fun 😉

Here’s to wobbling, resetting, and thriving.
The real way.

Tis the season to be… eating porridge! 🍐🔥
Because honestly — there’s nothing better on a cold morning than a warm bowl that:

🥶Warms you up from the inside

😋Fills you up (proper slow-release energy!)

🥣Looks after your gut

👍🏼Keeps your blood sugar steady

🥰And feels like a hug in a bowl 💜

Porridge is one of those simple, nourishing meals — fibre, wholegrains, minerals — and it keeps you full for ages. No crash, no cravings, just steady fuel.

And the toppings? That's the best but, there is no wrong option. Here are some of mine

🍎 Apple & raisin
🍐 Pear
🍓Summer fruits
🥜 Mixed nuts
🫐 Berries

And the GOAT of all toppings…
🍌🍯banana & honey (sometimes I go wild and add cinnamon)

Budapest what a whirlwind ✨

3 and a half days and
👟 83,000 steps
🛥️ 1 boat cruise
🥃 2 truly disgusting local drinks (we tried… we really did)
🎄 3 Christmas markets
🛁 The most amazing thermal bath
☕ 2 fabulous cafés
🍲 Goulash (of course)
🍺 Ruin bars
😋 And not forgetting the chimney cake

… the list goes on 😂

The perfect mix of walking, exploring, eating, seeing new things, and soaking up a beautiful city.

I want to be able to do this in my 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, being active, trying new things, saying yes to fun, yes to experience, and saying a big fat yes to life.

If your joints have been grumbling lately, you’re not alone.

When oestrogen and collagen decline in midlife it can make our joints feel stiffer — but with the right training, nutrition, and recovery, your body can adapt beautifully.

We have been told in the past that it's just old age, it's wear and tear, like we have to just put up with it.

It can scare us off doing any exercise 🫣

It’s not about slowing down — it’s about training smart.

You’ve still got decades of adventures left in those knees when you do things right 😉
