Susan Coldwell

Susan Coldwell Counselling & Psychotherapy I believe you are the only expert on your own life, however when things are difficult you do not have to struggle alone.

I offer a safe space for you to talk in confidence about your feelings, worries and problems without fear of judgement. I want to understand how it is for you and by building a relationship and being along side you, help you reach a deeper understanding of yourself. Only by valuing the wisdom within yourself can you develop self awareness and acceptance to facilitate growth and bring about real and meaningful change. I have a wide range of experience in working with abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, bereavement, PTSD, self harm, trauma and disabilities

Therapy is a process and there are no easy answers but together we can find a way forward. I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics which includes regular use of supervision and ongoing training for my personal ad professional development.

More safeguards are needed to keep counselling records confidential from police and court processes. Sexual assault survivors must be able to access therapy and safely explore their experience without fear of their notes being requested.

We’re among organisations who've called for this in our responses to a Government consultation on a draft Victim Information Code of Practice.

We’re concerned the code does not go far enough to protect survivors.

If we are going to tackle this climate crisis we cannot afford to look away from the feelings it stirs up. How we can help each other to sit with these feelings without being overwhelmed by them?
