If you were treated for cancer between April and June 2025, you might be invited to take part in the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey.

By sharing your experience, you’ll help the NHS continue improving care and support for everyone affected by cancer.

At the NHS, we want to make sure patients have a good experience of care. Getting feedback from patients helps us improve and give patients what they need.

⚽Our Barnsley Football Club takeover day raised £3,508!⚽

We’re so grateful to all the Barnsley supporters who gave generously through bucket collections, a raffle, and a shirt auction.

We'd also like to thank our amazing volunteers who made the event possible. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

This event was organised through our Together at Every Step football partnership – which brings clubs and fans together to raise vital funds💜.

Have you heard about our new ‘Mindful Movement’ sessions?

➡️ Group sessions designed for people who have gone through a cancer diagnosis and need support managing ongoing pain.
➡️ Low-impact physio-style sessions, run in partnership with and delivered by Community Wellness Services.
➡️ Take place once a month, at our Big Purple Bus locations in Parson Cross and Firvale.

In October, our fabulous fundraisers ran, cycled, hiked, and more for Weston Park Cancer Charity!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to:

💜 The Bradfield Plough which raised a whopping £8,321 through their harvest auction!
💜 Theo Wilkes, who raised £2,365 by taking on the Great North Run!
💜 Matthew Cooke-Fox, another incredible Great North Run participant who raised £1,362 🙌.
💜Paul, Martin, and Lewis from Heritage Goalkeeping who raised a brilliant £7,834 through the Eight Peaks Challenge!
💜Stainborough Rotary Club, which raised over £2,000 through a Barnsley bucket collection!
💜 CMS Law, which raised £447 by hosting a spooky bake sale 🎃.
💜Your Space Hoyland which raised £1,212 by organising a cycle-a-thon 🚴.
💜The Sport, Construction, and Travel & Tourism Departments at Barnsley College who held a bake sale which raised £316 🧁.
💜Natalie Grinvalds who raised £200 by hosting a ‘Body and Bowl’ HIIT class!
💜Mandy Beer from Aviva who raised £547 through her match-funded Halloween bake sale!

⭐Our Christmas Star Appeal is back for 2025! ⭐

Every year, our Christmas Stars help to fund vital cancer research, hospital enhancements, and support services.

Speaking about the appeal, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Dr Satya Garikipati, said:

“Your support means so much at this time of the year. It allows us to buy presents for those who can’t be at home.

“It means we can take our youngest patients out to see a pantomime. And it helps us to fund clinical trials and treatments which extend lives – enabling people to have more Christmases with their loved ones."

As our ‘see it. treat it.’ MRI Simulator appeal continues at pace, we’re showcasing the dedicated individuals driving it forward, behind the scenes, with their expertise and enthusiasm 🙌.

Our first Appeal Board spotlight is on Nigel Beasley, former Lead Cancer Clinician and Head and Neck Cancer Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Nigel's clinical expertise has been invaluable throughout the campaign!

Speaking about the appeal, he said: “The MRI simulator represents a monumental change in the way we ‘see’ and ‘treat’ cancer.

“It will have an immediate impact for patients in our region, helping us treat cancer more effectively while reducing side effects.

“Every donation brings us closer to transforming cancer care for thousands of people in our communities.”
