Your Local Care Coordinators: Stacey and Lisa, Make contact with patients and carers to support future planning and ensure people with memory deterioration or those diagnosed with Dementia are supported well, future proofing care and supporting those who are unpaid carers to manage care needs in a Preventative way.
Being proactive and reaching out for support, can really help in a caring role.

'Dementia is not just about memory loss'. This is the third thing we want everyone to know about dementia.

Memory problems are a common early sign of dementia, but not for everyone. A person with early-stage dementia might ask for the same information repeatedly or forget something they were recently told. But dementia can also affect the way people think, speak, perceive things, feel and behave.

Every person’s experience is unique and with greater understanding, we can all help make our communities more inclusive and supportive. Learn more about this by becoming a Dementia Friend at dementiafriends.org.uk

Eradicating cervical cancer is a real and remarkable opportunity but can only be achieved if people take up the offer of a screening appointment.

Cervical screening (sometimes called a smear test) isn't a test for cancer, it's a test to help prevent cancer.

When invited, people are urged to book their appointments, even if they have missed a previous one.

We as a team had the pleasure of meeting with this inspiration of a lady in January this year and her words were so powerful and touching. RIP lovely lady

Everyone at Dementia UK is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Wendy Mitchell. A tireless campaigner, Wendy’s writing and work helped many people understand what it is like to live with dementia, as well as giving a powerful voice to those living with the condition. 💙

Wendy spoke candidly about how her dementia affected her, and her efforts will leave a lasting impact in the way we understand dementia and approach dementia care. Her contributions to our Lived Experience Advisory Panel helped to ensure the specialist dementia care we offer reflects the needs of people facing dementia.

Our thoughts are with Wendy’s family and we send our deepest condolences at this difficult time. We urge families affected by dementia to reach out to our specialist Helpline. Staffed by dementia specialist Admiral Nurses, our Helpline offers support and guidance on all stages of dementia, including grieving for a loved one. Anyone affected by dementia can contact the Helpline by calling 0800 888 6678 or emailing helpline@dementiauk.org.
