In a weeks’ time 4 of our present and former colleagues will be taking to the skies… before jumping out of the plane…. All this to try and raise money for our very own Families Together team and the amazing work they do.
There are 72,000 looked after children in the UK. The outcomes for these young people are poorer than those who remain in the family home. Statistically Young People who have experience of the care system have lower attainment levels at school, are at a significantly increased risk of offending and are up to 15 times more likely to experience issues around substance misuse. 92% of families that Families Together work with stay together.
I think it’s safe to say they are pretty terrified (but excited) to jump out of a plane, the only thing that helps is the thought of raising as much money as possible.
