FGM: Female ge***al mutilation is a horrific crime that subjects women and girls to brutal gender-based violence.

Even in 2025, it is still taking place in this country.

Female ge***al mutilation (FGM) involves any procedure that removes part or all of the external female ge***alia, or any procedure that involves injury to the female ge***al organs for non-medical reasons. It can be carried anytime from birth and right up until a woman is married. It is illegal and incredibly painful, causing terrible physical and psychological problems.

Our force has established strong partnerships and worked to support victims of this crime in order to raise awareness and ultimately work towards our end goal of eradicating these forms of abuse against women and girls.

If you are concerned about someone you know who may be at risk of FGM or you have experienced it, please contact us on 101 or 999 if it is an emergency. Our specially trained officers are here to support you.

Cheryl sees women every day in Clinic who she says, have been duped by the Beauty Industry adverts that X or Y cream is the answer to a more youthful skin. “Its so hard for me to believe that we women can fall for such ads, but then again these are very clever adverts, with promotions that try and sell us their new enhanced advanced serum, cream or gel offers us the dream of smoother younger skin”

It is said that the average woman has tried 42 different -ageing skin products by the age of 50. On this Cheryl, in her no nonsense way goes on to say “that’s a lot of different creams and at a cost of some hundreds and hundreds of pounds to you-many of these products have little or no scientific evidence that they will do what they say on the tin”.

Thinking of getting a before you go on holiday ‼️

“She used the tanning devices—known to increase cancer risk by up to 75 per cent— for just 'a couple of minutes here and there', totalling less than an hour over the course of several weeks”.

Upon her return to the UK, she visited her GP to enquire about a mole that was worrying her. 'The doctor said this doesn't look right, I'm going to refer you on the two-week cancer pathway,' she said.

Why does any of this matter ?

⚠️We all know that when you go outside of any health provider to access injectable 💉treatments you increase your own risk⚠️

Lets look 👀 at what is happening

⬇️

Remote Prescribing ✍️

Remote prescribing is the prohibited practice of receiving these injections many of which are prescription only medicines ‘POM’ such as Botox®️ (NOTE there are other brands available) without ever seeing a healthcare prescriber.

🛑 This was banned by all the healthcare professional prescribing groups which include doctors, pharmacists, dentists many years ago and eventually by the nursing regulator.

It is important to note that the remote prescribing ban does not apply when visiting your GP or accessing healthcare and receiving prescriptions within the NHS - where there are many checks and balances in place to keep you safe ✅

Remote prescribing is 💯 banned when accessing a Botox injection and any other POM treatment outside the NHS because the risk to you is greater and there is clearly an unacceptable level of fraud and criminal activity.

We have now gone way, way, way past remote prescribing and it appears we have nurses and pharmacists dishing out POM’s for cash breaking all the rules 😨

‼️No prescription
‼️No consultation
‼️No patient ever seen

The evidence of criminal activity is there in this BBC exposé and this is a very real risk for public health in England today.

Healthcare Professionals acting with criminal intent breaking the rules on prescribing prescription medicines (POM’s) particularly Botox.
