Cacao is more than a ceremonial drink — it’s a bridge.

During Samhain, when we turn toward the ancestors and the unseen, cacao supports us physiologically in that openness.
The compounds in cacao — oxytocin and anandamide — create a felt sense of safety and warmth in the body.

Safety is the gateway to connection.
When we feel safe, our intuition deepens, our emotional body softens, and we can truly listen — to memory, to spirit, to ourselves.

Samhain marks the descent, but it’s also gestation time.
In the dark, things grow unseen.

Are you a cold water person? ❄️

It’s my new hobby — which is pretty bizarre for someone who doesn’t like the cold! But I’ve fallen in love with how it makes me feel. I love it so much I’ve even set up my own plunge pool outside.

Here’s my personal cold plunge protocol:
1️⃣ A short breathwork practice before getting in + set an intention (mine is discipline — it really helps). Treat it as nervous system regulation, not punishment or an endurance test.
2️⃣ Morning or midday is best — it’s very awakening and can interfere with sleep if done late. Though I happily stayed up till 3.am doing admin after an evening one, so it has it's place.
3️⃣ Regularity over extremes — consistency helps the nervous system to relax.
4️⃣ See it as part of a bigger wellness toolkit: movement, nutrition, connection, and self-care.
5️⃣ Finish with a warm-up movement practice — no towel, just let your body generate the heat naturally.
