As we celebrate this season of gratitude, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every mother, baby, child, and family who trusted us in Nursery, Labor & Delivery, OB, and Pediatrics this year. Caring for you is an honor, and we are truly thankful for the moments you’ve shared with us.

We also want to recognize our incredible team. To every nurse, provider, tech, and staff member, thank you. You are more than co-workers, you are family. We are grateful for your compassion, your dedication, and the way you support each other every single day.

We are so excited for two of our amazing pediatric nurses, Liz and Jordan, as they each prepare to welcome their sweet baby boys into the world! 💙

Liz has been such a blessing to our pediatric unit, always caring for our little patients with such compassion and ready to jump in to help whenever she’s needed. This will be her first baby boy and her third child, and we know her heart is overflowing with love as she prepares to welcome him.

Jordan is about to become a mom for the very first time, and we couldn’t be happier for her! She has such a gift for taking care of kids and is always there to lend a helping hand to her team. Her kindness and dedication to our pediatric patients shine every single day.

While we will miss them both while they’re away on maternity leave, we are thrilled they will get to spend this special time with their own families. 💙👶

Liz and Jordan thank you for everything you do for our pediatric patients. We hope your time off is filled with joy, love, and unforgettable memories with your new little ones.

🌸 August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month 🌸

Breastfeeding is one of the most powerful gifts we can give our babies, providing essential nutrients, boosting their immune systems, and creating a special bond between mother and child. It also supports the health and well-being of mothers, offering both physical and emotional benefits.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all the moms who work so hard to make breastfeeding possible, as well as the families, friends, physicians, and healthcare teams who support them along the way. 💗

We are deeply grateful to our community for the beautiful door prizes you generously donated for this event, your kindness and support mean so much.

A special recognition goes to Diana Castillo for her leadership and dedication in guiding our breastfeeding initiative here at Helen Keller Hospital. Your passion and commitment are making a lasting impact for mothers and babies in our community. 💕

We had a wonderful time attending the Annual Mom Prom last night! 💃✨ A huge thank you to Jessica Thompson, everyone who helped make the night so special, and Better Bama Babies for their incredibly generous donation.

Your support is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward improving women’s healthcare here in the Shoals, specifically for cordless wireless monitoring, which allows for more freedom and comfort for moms during labor. ❤️👶

Grateful for a community that shows up, gives back, and supports better births for all.

While many are enjoying fireworks, cookouts, and time off today, our incredible Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Pediatrics teams are hard at work caring for the tiniest firecrackers and bringing a few new ones into the world! 💥👶❤️

Today, our unit is filled with the sweetest kinds of celebrations the cries of newborns, the giggles of little ones, and the steady hands of nurses, doctors, and staff who show up with heart and dedication, even on holidays.

To our team working today: thank you for making this day just as meaningful inside the hospital as it is outside. And to all the babies born today welcome to the world, little firecrackers! You’ve already made it brighter. 🎇

As we celebrate the freedom and blessings we enjoy this Independence Day, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to making this holiday special. Your support, your spirit, and your service mean so much.

A special and sincere thank you goes out to Dr. Rozlyn Love and Dr. Scott Love. We are deeply grateful not only for your service to our country, but also for the dedication and compassion you show every day in caring for our mothers, babies, and pediatric patients.

Employee Highlight: Meredith Simpson

This week, we’re excited to highlight one of our most beloved pediatric nurses—Meredith Simpson!

Meredith is the kind of nurse every parent hopes their child will have. She’s compassionate, gentle, and incredibly patient, making her a natural when it comes to caring for little ones. Her sweet demeanor instantly puts both children and their families at ease, and it’s no surprise that her patients—and their parents—absolutely love her.

Meredith is also a joy to work alongside. She’s easy to get along with, incredibly organized, and brings a fun, uplifting energy to our team every day. Whether she’s calming a nervous toddler or supporting a fellow nurse, Meredith’s kindness and professionalism shine through.

When she’s not at work, Meredith enjoys antique shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She has a love for finding hidden gems and making memories with the people she cares about most.

And there’s even more to celebrate this week…
Meredith is getting married this weekend to her longtime fiancé, Jayden Smith! That’s right—she’ll soon become Mrs. Smith! It’s no secret that Jayden is just as excited as Meredith, and the two of them are over the moon about beginning their life together. After the wedding, they’ll be heading off to Charleston and Savannah for a romantic honeymoon.

We’re so happy for Meredith and Jayden as they step into this new season, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness, love, and laughter. Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Smith! 💕🎉
