Have you ever experienced Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a gentle form of holistic bodywork that originated in Japan: it literally means ‘finger pressure’ and can be described as like acupuncture without needles. It uses a combination of kneading, pressing, and gentle stretching techniques along meridians or channels of energy in the body, to help restore the body’s natural state of balance and wellbeing.

I am offering Shiatsu/Holistic Acupressure treatments in which you can learn daily tools for self-care: Qigong moves and personalised acupressure points.

Come and try Qigong at Saint Leonard’s community church this Thursday 23 October!

Tai chi Qigong (also called Shibashi) is a gentle and energising Qigong set, made up of 18 movements.

Reminder: There is no Qigong class on Thursday 30 October.

Classes resume on Thursday 6 November.

When: Thursday mornings at 10am-11am in term-time, from 3 October.
Where: Saint Leonard's community church, 331 Arbourthorne Road, Sheffield S2 3RD. Information about accessibility of the building.

Excited to be offering Holistic Acupressure/Shiatsu treatments in Nether Edge on Thursday afternoons from mid-October.

Relax and re-energise with a Holistic Acupressure/Shiatsu treatment and learn some daily tools for wellbeing: Qigong moves and personalised acupressure points.

When: Treatments are available on Thursday afternoons 2pm-7pm. Other days/times may be available subject to availability.

Where: Fiveways Therapy Centre, 2 Kenwood Road, Sheffield, S7 1NP. There is a bus stop a few metres away (number 218), and there is on-road parking available nearby.

Accessibility information: The clinic has ramp access and an accessible toilet. I practise on the ground floor. If you have any accessibility requirements, let me know.

How much: Prices are £55 for the initial session at 75 mins. Subsequent sessions are £40 for 50 mins, £45 for 60 mins, £55 for 75 mins. Concessions on request.

Join us for some gentle mindful movement. Qigong can be practised standing or seated. Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Qigong is for everyone!

Really looking forward to running this Qigong class at Saint Leonard’s community church in Sheffield from October.
Sessions in Spring and Summer were very well-received.

Taiji Qigong (also called Shibashi) is a gentle and energising Qigong set, made up of 18 movements.

Qigong has its roots in China over 5000 years ago and is now widely practised around the world. It's like Tai chi, but Qigong sets tend to be shorter and easier to learn than a Tai chi form.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced students.

Where? Saint Leonard’s community church is an accessible community centre located next to Arbourthorne tram stop. Free parking available. For information about accessibility: https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/17451/facilities/
When? Thursday mornings at 10am-11am, during term-time from Thursday 2nd October.
How much? £7 per class, or £6 per class concessions.
Anything else? You can practise Qigong seated or standing. Chairs are available if you'd like to sit for all or part of the class. Just wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing and flat shoes.

Are you interested in learning some shiatsu techniques to support your health and wellbeing? If so, this is a great opportunity to spend two hours at the school on a Friday afternoon learning some facial shiatsu, useful points for self-care and a lovely treatment for working the hands. We will be doing some Qi Gong and meditation and there will be opportunities to find out more about Shiatsu and the course opportunities that are open to your through the school. Qigong– isn’t that a character from Star Wars?

Qigong (also sometimes spelled Qi gong, Chi Kung, Chi gong) is often translated as ‘energy work’ or ‘breath work’.

Qigong has its roots in China over 5000 years ago and is now widely practised around the world. It's like Tai chi, but Qigong sets tend to be shorter and easier to learn than a Tai chi form.

The word Qigong is made up of two words in Chinese characters: Qi (air, energy, spirit, vigour, atmosphere, attitude) and Gong (achievement, merit, result, effect, success, skill) – Katherine Allen, The Qigong Bible.

Excited to be part of planning and delivering these workshops about Shiatsu for Self-care and Wellbeing, in collaboration with School of Shiatsu and with funding from Shiatsu Society UK.

We will be guiding people through some gentle mindful movement such as Qigong and Makka Ho, and teaching some tools for self-care from Shiatsu and acupressure.
