I’m sharing some exciting team news, autumn class updates, and a little note about my upcoming time off for surgery and the amazing support team in place.

This is Layla’s Story 💞

Some journeys come full circle in the most powerful ways. I first met Layla over 10 years ago when she joined our Keep Mums Fit classes during her pregnancy. Now, she’s back training with us one-to-one—this time to rebuild her strength following treatment for breast cancer.

And wow, her progress has been incredible. Watching her strength soar over the past few months has been a privilege.

It’s always an honour to support former members, but this one’s especially close to the heart.

Layla took part in a Pretty Muddy 5k many years ago in 2015 to honour of my mum and so many others affected by cancer. And now, she’s taking it to the next level, quite literally by jumping out of a plane to raise funds for the incredible charities that supported her through treatment.

Layla’s courage is something else, and her words below speak for themselves. If you can spare just a few pounds, it would mean the world. Let’s show up for Layla and the people these charities help every single day.

This is Layla’s Story 💞

Some journeys come full circle in the most powerful ways. I first met Layla over 10 years ago when she joined our Keep Mums Fit classes during her pregnancy. Now, she’s back training with us one-to-one—this time to rebuild her strength following treatment for breast cancer.

🌍 Happy ! 🌍

As a midwife for 20 years before changing careers, I’ve had the incredible privilege of being part of countless women’s journeys into the beautiful yet daunting world of motherhood. I am truly honored to have worked alongside so many amazing midwives and compassionate individuals who share my passion for supporting women and their families.

I cherish the countless memories I’ve made, each one permanently etched in my heart. 💕

I will always remember the remarkable women I supported throughout the years, both in hospitals and in the community. Many of them now join my gym to strength train as we embrace the next phase of our lives—perimenopause! The trust we built never fades, and I’m always here to offer my support.

Being a midwife has shaped me into who I am today, filled with moments of joy and sometimes sadness. 🥲 A huge shoutout to my fantastic midwife friends—you are all truly fabulous! To the beautiful families and babies I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, thank you for being the best. ❤️

💔 Today 12 years ago my beautiful mum lost her 4 month battle to cancer an inoperable brain tumour that despite the sadness in those last months and weeks as a family we never failed to be there for one another.

Missed but never forgotten. Such a brilliant mum who always gave me the courage, strength, confidence and determination to pursue my dreams and live a life full of adventure!

Alway believing in me
Always supportive
Always full of wise words that have helped shape my life and made me the Mum Daughter and business woman I am today.

I will always be grateful and will strive to give my girls the very same and I know mum would be so very proud of my girls achievements.

Every year that goes by I post this poem as a tribute to my mum and for those of you who have lost loved ones 💔 memories never die

Dear Mum,

I just thought I’d say
I love you and goodbye
We will miss you dearly
I promise I won’t cry.

I will never forget our talks
Conversations on the phone
How happy you were to see me
When I finally came home.

You worried so much about me
I worried about you too
I know this is the hardest thing
We've ever had to do.

I know you'll always be with me
Wherever I will go
No one needs to show me
I will always know.

I don’t know what to do Mum
I never thought I’d loose you
Where I'll go from here
I still haven't got a clue.

I hope you'll watch over me

Our Story

Keep Mums Fit was created by Kate Campbell in 2007 experienced Midwife Personal Trainer Pre & Postnatal exercise specialist and Mum of 2 - with the sole aim of delivering safe effective, expert fitness classes to the many mums of sheffield who wanted to remain fit and active throughout their pregnancies and the postnatal period.

Its hard to know what you can and can’t do, so with guidance, nutritional information and a progressive pathway for mums to follow to ensure they have a healthy pregnancy and safe return to the sports they love following birth Keep mums fit will deliver an effective exercise programme that focuses on adapting traditional exercises to support your changing body throughout pregnancy and will help you reconnect and restore your body safely post-birth.
