The moment I knew I’d disappeared from my own life…

I was standing at the kitchen counter, knife in hand, half an onion diced…and I couldn’t feel my own life.

Everything was warm and ordinary…the oven humming, the day winding down…but I felt like I was behind glass. Watching myself do dinner like a character in someone else’s show.

And I remember thinking:
I don’t know where I’ve gone.

No big drama. No breakdown.
Just a quiet hollowing.
A subtle sense that I’d drifted too far from the woman I used to be and I wasn’t sure how to get her back.

The truth is, most women don’t fall apart in a blaze of chaos.
They just slowly disconnect.
From joy. From their body. From the parts of them that used to feel alive.

That moment at the chopping board was my wake-up call.
Not because anything was really “wrong”,
but because I wanted more than just being fine.
I wanted to feel real.

That’s what I now offer other women.

Here’s what most women don’t realise…

When you’re running on stress hormones all day, your nervous system adapts.
It learns to live in fight, flight, or freeze…even if everything looks “fine” on the outside.

That might show up as:
– You’re snappy or detached but can’t explain why
– You crave sugar, coffee, or your phone for relief
– You lose interest in the things that usually make you feel like you
– You feel both wired and bone-deep tired

This isn’t failure. It’s a sign your system is over-capacitated.
Which means what you need isn’t more discipline or motivation, it’s regulation.

Imagine waking up one morning and realising you actually feel like yourself again.

Not the exhausted, overstretched, semi-functioning version that’s been holding all the plates.
Not the woman who’s doing Christmas lists in her head at 3am while trying to remember if she ever replied to that message or bought the wrapping paper.
But you. The real you. The one who feels present in her body.
Clear in her mind.
Steady in her energy.

You’re not rushing to fix anything.
You’re not absorbing every little thing around you.
You’re moving through your day with a softness that feels unfamiliar but good.
You notice you’re breathing deeper. Sleeping more peacefully. Making decisions without spiralling.

You don’t always know you’re disconnected.
Sometimes it just shows up as irritability. Or scrolling too much.

Or forgetting what you even like anymore.
You catch yourself sighing a lot. Getting through the day on autopilot.
Feeling flat when you “should” be feeling grateful.

That’s how it starts.
That slow fade from your own centre.
Not broken apart. Not in a crisis.
Just… a drifting. A dullness. A not-quite-yourself-ness.

This week I worked with a woman who couldn’t quite name what was wrong.
She just said, “I just don’t feel like me anymore.”

We didn’t need to fix anything.
We made space for her to feel what had been buried under the busyness.
She cried. She laughed. She let herself rest.
By the time she left, her face had changed. Softer. Lighter. More here.

That’s what this work is.
Not about achieving, changing, solving.
It’s about returning.

Most women I work with want to feel more in control of their lives. They want clarity, confidence, momentum…to stop second-guessing themselves or getting knocked sideways every time life throws something unexpected.

And somewhere along the way, they’ve often absorbed the idea that not changing something means they must be choosing it. That if they’re still stuck in the same patterns or relationships or behaviours, it’s their fault. That they’re just not trying hard enough.

But it’s often not that simple.

You can know something needs to change and still not feel ready to do it.

You can feel uncomfortable, overwhelmed, stretched thin, but not have the space or support to actually move differently.

You’re not choosing the stuckness, you’re surviving it. And when women try to force change from that place, they either burn out or blow everything up. And then they blame themselves again 💔

The real issue is that most women are trying to change their life without changing their internal capacity. They’re trying to shift big things while still running on depleted nervous systems, emotional loops, and belief systems that were never theirs to begin with.

That’s why they keep looping. That’s why things don’t stick. And that’s why slogans like “what you’re not changing you’re choosing” can actually keep them frozen, because it’s more shame, more pressure, more “why haven’t I fixed this yet?”

What actually needs to happen is safety. Regulation. Reconnection. The ability to hear your own truth beneath all the noise and the structure to walk it out step by step without blowing your life up.

That’s what I do. Whether you come for one session or we work together over a few weeks, the point is never to fix you, it’s to bring you back into a version of yourself that can choose clearly, not react from panic or exhaustion.

This is emotional health work. Nervous system support. Pattern interrupting. Getting your power back so change isn’t a threat anymore, it’s a natural next step.

Lately, I’ve been talking to clients about what it means to feel like the main character in your own life again.

Because somewhere between juggling the family schedule, emotional load, work, relationships, and just trying to keep the fridge stocked…a lot of women feel like they’ve become the supporting act in their own story.
Or worse, like they’ve wandered into someone else’s film entirely.

They say things like:
“Who even am I anymore?”
“I just feel like I’ve lost the plot.”
“I’m stuck in a loop I didn’t write.”

Truthfully, you don’t need to control every character, subplot or scene transition.
You don’t need to have the whole arc figured out.

Feeling empowered isn’t about being in charge of everything. It’s about remembering you’re the one holding the pen.

The one with agency.
The one with choice.
The one who can shift genre at any time.

Maybe your life’s been reading like a survival thriller lately. Or a dark comedy with weird pacing. Maybe it’s a romcom where the main love interest is… yourself.
Maybe it’s an underdog story where the turning point is right now.

Some women come to me for just one session.

They book in because they feel overwhelmed, stuck in their head or weighed down by something they can’t quite name.
They talk it through, receive some gentle insight, lie down for Reiki and leave feeling lighter.
And that’s beautiful. Truly.
That one hour can feel like a lifeline.

Others come for the stillness of Reiki alone…a moment of peace, recalibration, and nervous system exhale.
Also beautiful. Also needed.

But my favourite way to work?
That’s with the women who stay for a season ❤️

Not forever. Not endlessly.
But long enough to go deep.
To get curious.
To gently pull apart the patterns that aren’t serving them anymore and rebuild from a place of clarity, trust, and truth.

I love creating focused, often bespoke containers — taking everything you share in your initial session and shaping it into a path of support that’s just for you.

We use emotional health coaching, mentoring, simple energy tools, Reiki, nervous system education — whatever’s needed —
to move through life’s wobbles, big transitions, grief, burnout, identity shifts or that deep desire to just feel like yourself again.

It’s not about dependence.
It’s about insight, integration, and giving you the tools to carry on — steady, strong, and more rooted in who you are.
