Introduction to KT Physiotherapy and Sports Massage

I’m Katy, I’ve been qualified as a physiotherapist since 2013 after qualifying from the university of Bradford with a first class honours degree. I also qualified just after finishing university in sports massage level 3.

Since then I have worked for the NHS full time in a variety of different specialties including MSK, respiratory, neurology, palliative care and long covid within the hospital and the community.
I’m currently a clinical specialist physiotherapist in frailty and I also work on the orthopaedic weekend rota.
I’m in my first year of a MSc in advanced clinical practice.
I have a lot of experience of working in elite sport with SWFC academy, Yorkshire league 1 rugby union and the Yorkshire netball and Leeds Rhinos pathway.
My career highlight is covering a rugby match at Twickenham!

If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment don’t hesitate to contact me on this page. I aim to respond within a few hours.

Osteoporosis is preventable. Regular exercise can reduce the risk of falls by about 25% and the incidence of hip fractures by 50%.
For people with osteoporosis, the main goals of physical activity should be to prevent falls by improving general health, balance, muscle strength, posture, and postural stability. 🤸🏻‍♂️🏋🏻‍♂️🧘🏼‍♀️

Interesting Physio fact of the day:

For 7 days of bed rest due to illness / injury you lose 1.5 kilograms of muscle mass, this takes 3 months of weight training to reverse this loss!!

Tip = Avoid bed rest at all costs except when specifically advised by a medical professional

Keep on exercising 💪🏻🏋🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️🏊‍♀️
