Worried you might injure yourself?

Start some strength training now to target leg strength and reduce injury risk!

Exercises targeting quadriceps strength (thigh muscles) are particularly useful to improving your skiing technique!

Here are a few examples;

Squats with an added reverse lunge
Walking lunge with upper body rotation
Lateral ski jumps

How long should I stretch for?

It’s widely accepted that stretching for 10-30 seconds and repeating that stretch 2-4 times in a session is sufficient for increasing flexibility.

Flexibility sessions should be performed atleast 2-3 times a week for best results!

Achilles Tendinopathy

Achilles tendinopathy is an injury to the band of tissue (tendon) that connects the muscles in your lower leg to your heel bone.

You may get pain, stiffness and sometimes swelling local to your heel. It's a common injury, especially if you're very active or do lots of sports.

Aside from rest, ice and pain relief, heel raise splints and physiotherapeutic rehab can help resolve the pain and symptoms.
