We started the day with a relaxing 1:1 nail care session with Jayne 💅, followed by an afternoon of green care.
Our pamper session brought soft music, soapy hand soaks, and the chance for everyone to choose their favourite nail colours 💅✨ Both residents enjoyed some well deserved one-to-one time 🤍
Martin spent time potting and separating plants 🪴🌾. We made quite a mess, but had lots of laughs along the way! Now we sit back and wait to see them grow 😊

Yesterday and this afternoon we enjoyed our music therapy session with Jane 🎶😊. We also had a lovely sing-along where Jayne and Kelly entertained us and brought such a great vibe to our afternoon 🎤🎵✨

🌼🌿 Volunteer Gardening Day at Oak Manor – Saturday 2nd May 2026 🌿🌼

We’re looking for kind volunteers who can spare a few hours to help us get our gardens ready for summer ☀️
We are planning to do it around 10:00-15:00 but even if you can help for an hour this would be great!!

Tasks will include light gardening such as planting, weeding, tidying flower beds and general maintenance 🌷🍃

Our gardens mean so much to our residents, and with a little extra help we can make them even more beautiful, safe and enjoyable for everyone 💚

Refreshments will be provided ☕🍰

Honestly, we’re still not sure who enjoyed the new games more… the residents or the staff! 😅🙌🎉
What we do know is that it was a day full of emotion 💖✨, joy 🌟😊, and unforgettable memories 📸💫 Can’t wait to do it all again! 🎊🎉🥰

It was so lovely to see a small group come together for a friendly round of Bananagrams this week 🧩✨

Alongside some very impressive vocabularies, what really stood out was the kindness shown throughout the session 💛 Residents supported one another, helped complete tricky grids and shared lots of encouragement and laughter 😊

Life at MHA Oak Manor Care Home

Purpose built and opened in November 2017, Oak Manor care home sits on the outskirts of Shefford.

Specially designed, every detail of the home’s layout is created to enhance the independence and dignity of residents. Oak Manor is a 64 bedroom care home that provides residential and residential dementia specialist care with features such as an on-site hairdressers, cinema room and coffee shop.

In common with all MHA Homes, Oak Manor is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to residents, while our Chaplain offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs.
