Last week, our wonderful Knit & Natter Club from The Burlington Care Home enjoyed the loveliest outing to The Wool Studios in Shepperton, and what a gem it is! ✨

Surrounded by shelves of the softest, most colourful wool you could imagine, our residents had the absolute best time carefully picking out yarn for their next creations. There’s something so special about selecting your own colours and textures, it sparks creativity, encourages independence, and brings such a sense of pride and purpose 💚

And the best bit? The cosy café! ☕🍰 Our Knit & Natter group settled in with a delicious hot cuppa and got straight to work on their knitting, chatting, laughing and sharing tips as they went.

A huge thank you to the lovely team at The Wool Studios for making us feel so welcome. If you’re local to Shepperton, we’d definitely recommend popping in!

🌍🪐✨ Science Day at The Burlington! ✨🪐🌍

For our second stage the residents turned their talents to painting all the planets and what a colourful masterpiece it became! 🎨🌟 From swirling blues and greens of Earth to the fiery reds of Mars, every planet was brought to life with creativity and care.

The room was filled with laughter, light-hearted jokes and plenty of playful debate about which planet deserved the most sparkle! 😄💚

Creative activities like this aren’t just fun (although there was plenty of that! 😉) they support fine motor skills, encourage conversation, spark memories of school days, and keep minds wonderfully engaged. All part of our Life Enrichment Programme, designed to help our residents feel stimulated, connected and fulfilled 💚

And the best part, Everyone is already excited and counting down to the next stage! 🚀✨

✨ Throwback Thursday vibes! ✨

We couldn’t let this Thursday pass without throwing it back to our amazing 7-year celebration last week… and oh, what a celebration it was! 🎉🥳

Of course, no party at The Burlington would be complete without our one and only Jimmy stealing the show 💃🕺 Shaking those hips, tapping those toes, and keeping the energy high from start to finish – he had us all smiling, singing along, and maybe even busting out a few moves ourselves! 😄🎶

Seven years of laughter, friendship, and feeling truly at home… and if last week’s celebration is anything to go by, the best is yet to come 💚

What a beautiful afternoon of music we enjoyed 💚🎹

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Sunbury Piano Group into our home, filling the lounge with the most uplifting melodies and familiar favourites. From gentle classics to cheerful toe-tappers, our residents were soon smiling, swaying and even singing along 🎶✨

There’s something so special about live piano music . It has a magical way of sparking memories, encouraging conversation and creating a calm, joyful atmosphere. 💚

Seeing our residents so relaxed and happy, sharing the experience together, is exactly why we do what we do. It’s never just an activity… it’s connection, community and feeling truly at home.

It was such a pleasure to visit the Memory Café this week and present a donation to the incredible Purple Angels at Spelthorne Dementia Support 💜

Organisations like this are a true asset to our local community – creating safe, welcoming spaces for people living with dementia and their loved ones to connect, share experiences and feel understood 💙 The warmth in the room was unmistakable… laughter, conversation, and that wonderful sense of “you’re not alone”.

Supporting initiatives like this aligns so closely with our values, and being able to give back in a small way was an absolute privilege 💚

Seven wonderful years of The Burlington 💚🎉 … and what a celebration it was!

We came together to mark our 7th birthday, and our home was filled with laughter, memories and so much pride. 🥂✨ From beautiful decorations to plenty of sweet treats, it truly was a moment to pause and reflect on just how far we’ve come as a community.

One of the most special moments of the day was the lovely speech from our incredible Home Manager, Margie 💚 Her heartfelt words took us on a journey through The Burlington’s story, sharing cherished memories, milestones, and the special bonds that have been formed along the way. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room! 🥹

Moments like this are so important for our residents. Celebrating together strengthens friendships, sparks meaningful conversations, and brings back treasured memories. 💫 It’s these shared experiences that nurture emotional wellbeing and remind everyone that they are part of something truly special.

Seven years of care, compassion and community… and we’re only just getting started. 💚 Here’s to many more memories made together!

🐉🎊 Chinese New Year came to life at Burlington Care Home in the most wonderful way! 🎊🐉

Our incredible team made the amazing dragon themselves and danced it through the home – and what a fun it was🐲✨

The colour, music and movement brought smiles, laughter and a real buzz of excitement to everyone watching. Moments like these don’t just entertain, they lift spirits, spark conversation and create joyful shared memories💚

We also enjoyed some delicious traditional treats 🥟🥢 exploring new flavours is a lovely way to stimulate the senses and reminisce about travels and family traditions.

🥞✨ Fantastic fun at The Burlington! ✨🥞

Pancake Day brought smiles all round as our lovely residents at The Burlington rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into making their very own pancakes 💚 From squeezing fresh lemon and sprinkling sugar 🍋 to drizzling golden honey 🍯 and going all out with chocolate sauce and colourful sprinkles 🍫🌈 there was a topping for every taste!

Moments like these are about so much more than delicious treats. Baking together encourages gentle movement, sparks memories of family traditions, and creates those all-important opportunities for laughter and connection 💚

Safe to say… they were enjoyed by all and yes, there may have been a second helping or two! 😉🥞

🔬✨ Science Day at The Burlington! ✨🌍

Who says you stop exploring the universe when you grow up? Not our wonderful residents at The Burlington! 💚

When we asked what they’d love to do for Science Day, the answer was unanimous… “Let’s make a solar system!” 🌞🪐 And just like that, our intergalactic adventure began.

Stage one is officially underway , papier-mâché planets (and a very impressive Sun!) are taking shape, with sticky hands, big smiles, and plenty of laughter filling the room 😄🎨 There was joking, storytelling, and a fair bit of debate about which planet is the most interesting . Mars had some strong supporters! 🚀

Activities like this are a brilliant part of our Life Enrichment Programme 💫 Not only do they spark creativity and imagination, but they also support cognitive stimulation, encourage teamwork, and bring everyone together in the most joyful way. It’s about keeping minds active, spirits lifted, and connections strong 💚

We can’t wait to share the next stage of our solar system as it comes to life. Watch this space… the universe is expanding at The Burlington! 🌌✨
