Last week, we had the honour of guiding the funeral service for a truly remarkable man, whose legacy will be long remembered within our community.
For over 40 years, he dedicated his time and heart to leading local Scout groups, helping to shape the lives of countless young people through mentorship, adventure, and service.

His commitment to the values of Scouting—integrity, kindness, and leadership—was evident in every story shared by family, friends, and former Scouts. It was clear that he didn’t just teach these values; he lived them.

We are grateful to his family for entrusting us with such a meaningful farewell, and we extend our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him.
May his spirit of guidance, generosity, and adventure continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

Today, we were honoured to support a family as they gathered at St Wilfrid’s Church for a heartfelt funeral service in memory of their loved one. Surrounded by prayer, music, and the presence of those who cared deeply, the service beautifully reflected a life filled with love and meaning.

Following the church service, we continued to St George’s for the burial, where the family shared quiet, emotional moments as they offered their final goodbyes. The peaceful setting and the gentle words spoken at the graveside brought comfort and a sense of closure during a difficult day.

We are truly grateful to have been entrusted with guiding the family through such an important and tender time.

🕊️ Remembrance Day 🕊️

At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we pause to remember.

We honour all who have served — the brave men and women who fought for our freedom, the medics, nurses, and volunteers who cared for others, and those who supported the cause from home and afar.

We also remember the loyal animals who stood alongside them — the horses, dogs, pigeons, and countless others who gave unwavering service and sacrifice.

Their courage, compassion, and dedication remind us of the true cost of peace and the strength of the human (and animal) spirit.

“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.” 🌺
