DUE DATES ARE A BIT OF A SCAM, REALLY 🤷🏻♀️
Can we all agree that the phrase “your due date” makes it sound like your baby is going to arrive like an Amazon parcel between 8am–8pm? 📦
Babies do not care about calendars.
They are not sitting there checking the date like,
“Right then, better get my shoes on.”
A due date is really just a guess.
A rough idea.
A polite estimate.
A “somewhere around then, hopefully” kind of situation
Because let’s be honest…
🌸 Children don’t all hit puberty at the same age
🍎 Apples on a tree don’t all ripen on the same day
👶 And babies don’t all decide they’re ready to be born on one exact magical date either
Some babies are early.
Some are late.
Some like to keep everyone humble and make an entrance when absolutely nobody expected it 🙃
Your body and your baby are doing their own thing, in their own time - not following a conveyor belt timeline that society decided on in the 19th century.
So if your due date is creeping closer and you’re getting: “Oooohhh, any signs???” from every man and his dog...
Just remember:
you have not failed because your baby is still cosy.
They’re just not into deadlines
Save this as your reminder that “due” doesn’t mean “late if not here by then.”
