Our Moon Circles continue every two weeks at Harmony Within, offering a safe, grounded space to slow down, reflect, and connect 🌙

We gather fortnightly, working with the natural cycles to support emotional release, intention setting, and inner connection.

Fully Funded Weightloss Support In Somerset

New Year often brings with it another round of weightloss resolutions that ultimately make lots of money for diet companies and slimming products and leave us feeling hungry, craving, failing and giving up.

They leave us thinking that we are the problem.
I want to tell you, that you are not the problem.
The diet industry and the restrictive unwholesome method is the problem.

I want to share a new route, a new way.
That focuses on nourishing.
On becoming more empowered to choose.
On support for mindset, nutrition and self care that empowers us.
It becomes about how we want to eat and how we want to care for ourselves.
Then, weightloss becomes a natural side effect of caring and nourishing.

Heads Up Somerset has a fresh programme of fully funded creative and wellbeing courses running January–March. These courses are ideal for building confidence, improving wellbeing, learning new skills and enhancing social connection in the winter months.

☕ This winter, the Cathedral is offering a warm space in the Cathedral Café and a warm rail by the Cathedral Shop for anyone who may need them.

The warm space in the Café is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. and includes a free cup of tea or filter coffee.

A warm rail is already in place by the Cathedral Shop, where warm clothing can be donated and taken as needed, free of charge.

If you would like to support the scheme, there is an opportunity to donate towards it when you visit the Café. Please do spread the word to anyone who may benefit from either or both offers.

We are so excited for our upcoming series of walks to blow out the cobwebs this January and hope that as many people as possible will get involved!

The walks do fill up, book early to avoid disappointment. Last year they brought together the community, tackling isolation and encouraging people to get active and outdoors.

Join us on New Year’s Day and every weekend in January. All the walks are FREE to join and vary in difficulty and length.

Meditation is often approached as an activity that “we have to get right”.

With this approach, most people I work with say “I’m not good at meditating” or because they think they’re ‘not experiencing what they meant to’, they believe that they can’t do it.

There are many different methods of meditation that each hold a unique purpose and fruit from their practice.

An underlying issue with many people’s experience of meditation is that they receive an instruction ((like focus on the breath))…and then are given no further guidance on how to actually do that, or what the purpose actually is.

So our mind wanders, and we blame ourselves and get frustrated and give-up as a failed attempt

Meditation can actually be a curiosity-led, specific method of understand more about our own mind, and therefore cultivating a freedom from thinking…worrying….ruminating…confusion and many other things that cause us mental, emotional and physical strain.

With a calmer mind, natural joy arises and life’s up and downs are experienced from a more grounded and well place.

🧘If you are curious about how meditation could support you here are two top tips to make a meditative practice actually feel great (and bring results).

🎶🎧 experiencing the present moment is a meditative practice that supports the actual health of our brain. Using sound whether it’s music, chanting or birdsong can be a simple way to be present. Sound only happens in the present so if you are listening, you are present.

🥰🥳 meditation is a way of training the mind. If we intend to meditate (like focusing on sound or the feel of the breath) of course our mind will wander. This is not a problem. The wonderful thing is that we actually notice that our mind wandered!! So when we remember that we meant to meditate our response can be “aha! I remembered, inner smile, gently return to the meditation focus”. This trains our mind to remember more and stay longer with the focus. Being hard on ourself doesn’t lead to better meditation (ever).

😟 Feeling stressed or anxious? Your brain might be stuck scanning for what could go wrong (but right now, you’re on social media reading this)

Good news: this practice can help. 🌟

✨Support to shift your focus, thoughts and emotions from the inside
✨ Create real, tangible change in how you feel and respond
✨ Take back control of your experience

(Neuroscience now shows your brain predicts what might happen based on past experiences, I work with NLP which has been helping people restore their present and future for decades 😉)

Try this tiny but powerful exercise:

💬 Self-talk: “I’m okay.”

If you are reading this now, your body is likely safe enough to be able to welcome a bit of ease. Your body listens. Saying “I’m okay” changes your body’s perception of what is needed in this moment. Saying “I’m okay” helps your nervous system relax, reminding you that right now, you can be comfortable.

💡Top tip: Make it yours. Say it in words, tone and expression that feel natural to you – so your body truly believes it.

Small shifts. Real impact. ✨

🌟 End-of-Year Celebration: Fully Funded Holistic Wellbeing in Somerset!

This week brought the 2025 funded wellbeing courses to a close so I'm taking this moment to celebrate the incredible journey everyone has shared.

To everyone who joined in, thank you for showing up with openness, kindness, and courage. Your commitment to your wellbeing is inspiring, and it’s been a privilege to share with you.

Together, we explored mindset tools, empowered nutrition, breathwork skills and movement meditation qigong and the transformations have been beautiful.

Many people shared that the courses and practices supported them with anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, fatigue, pain, and finding ways to reconnect with their body and energy. Some found renewed focus toward long-term goals. Others discovered joy, confidence and the simple power of taking a little time for themselves.

Here are some of the highlights shared:

✨ “This course helped reduce my anxieties around daily life and health problems.”
✨ “I’ve gained more inner calm, insight, clarity and confidence.”
