Happy Love Day ❤️
Eleven years ago… two tiny humans, rosy cheeks, bobble hats… and a very serious ice-cream kiss on a park bench 🍦
Back then my biggest worry was sticky fingers and whether they’d drop the cone. I didn’t yet realise how much motherhood would teach me about nourishment — not just what’s on their plate, but how love, safety and connection feed their nervous systems too.
As a mum (and a lifelong gut health geek 🙋🏻♀️), I see it so clearly now…
Love regulates.
Connection calms the vagus nerve.
Feeling safe supports digestion.
It’s not just about probiotics and fibre (although yes please to those too 😉).
It’s about cuddles, laughter, being heard, being held.
Our children’s microbiomes are shaped by so many things — but one of the most powerful is the emotional environment we create around them.
Love really is good for the gut ❤
Im so grateful for these two every single day — and grateful that the work I do at Total Gut Health is rooted in exactly this: creating safety, calm and nourishment from the inside out.
