ManHealth is a Community Interest Company who aim to create a network of male peer support groups across County Durham and the United Kingdom for men who are struggling with their mental and physical health. The groups are open to men affected by mental and physical ill health to share friendship and support over a common condition. All ManHealth groups are ran by men with a lived experience of mental ill health. The group
s are designed to provide an opportunity to meet new friends, helping to end the social stigma, and loneliness of mental health conditions. Based in Shildon near Newton Aycliffe we are proud to serve the whole of the North East. Whether you're in County Durham or Northumberland, or the surrounding areas. Weekends aren’t always the “switch off” people think they are.

Sometimes they’re when your mind catches up, the stuff you’ve been putting off all week suddenly feels louder.

Here are a few small things that might help this weekend 👇

1️⃣ Get outside.
Even 20 minutes of fresh air can shift your headspace. Walk, kick a ball, wash the car, whatever gets you moving.

2️⃣ Talk to someone.
A mate, a brother, your dad, it doesn’t have to be deep. A quick chat can take the edge off a heavy week.

3️⃣ Cut yourself some slack.
You don’t have to fix everything today. Rest is productive too.

4️⃣ Do one thing that’s just for you.
Music, football, fishing, a film or something that reminds you you’re still you.

5️⃣ Remember you’re not alone.
If things feel too heavy, reach out. We’re here.

💃🕺 This Saturday is the time to cheer on our very own Ciaran!

Ciaran will be swapping the ManHealth polo for some dancing shoes as he takes to the stage in this year’s Strictly Step by Step competition!

He’s been putting in the hours (and probably a few sore muscles) to raise funds and awareness for our local cause and we couldn’t be prouder.

Let’s show him the same support he shows to others every single day. 👏

Drop a comment of encouragement below, share this post, and if you’re heading along make some noise for Ciaran!

💛 Good luck, mate the whole ManHealth family is behind you!

At ManHealth, we believe no man should have to face his struggles alone.

Our peer support groups are safe, confidential spaces where men come together to talk about what’s really going on, work stress, relationships, health worries, or just the weight of life sometimes.

You don’t have to pretend here.
You don’t have to fix anything for anyone.
You just have to show up and maybe listen, maybe talk, maybe both.

Every week, hundreds of men across County Durham and the North East sit down in rooms just like ours and leave feeling a little lighter.

That’s the power of connection.

✔️ Free to attend
✔️ Open to all men aged 18+
✔️ Friendly, informal, no judgement
✔️ In-person and online options available

Don’t wait until crisis. Take the first small step.
