Listening to the body - JOY❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽
Busy week last week!
Meetings, clients, Nativity jumper search, checking in with pals, teaching, rehearsing, cleaning, appointments, 6 year old bed thief, prospect of Chrimbo shopping, you feeling me!?
Uncomfortable Cross Country train travel, found my neck, shoulders and head tight and my body begging for a lie down🛏️
It said repeatedly -
‘I need to lie down, I’ll be ok if we just lie down Tanya’
‘Mmmm.
Ah what the hell, I’d like that too’
So I took myself to the bike storage area, and honoured what my body really needed and wanted to heal.
To completely surrender to the floor, be acknowledged for all it had done that week, find release through somatic movements and peace through some deep breaths.
And Shabba Ranks! My neck eased off, headache cleared and I ate my pack up with ease!
The only thing stopping me from doing what I instinctively knew was right was me -
‘But you can’t lie down on a train!
What will people think?
I’ll just sit here, get through it and lie down in 5 hours.’
When we listen to our bodies, they tell us what we need.
Rest, sleep, gentleness, grounding, nutrients, fresh air, people, laughter, exercise.
Life gets so busy, we push through with pain, discomfort, negative emotions and feelings, thinking if we just get ‘this bit over with’, then it’ll sort itself out.
Sessions with me allow your body to really be heard.
To be held and honoured, to be seen and sung to, to connect back to the greatest sources of healing❤️🙌🏽🙏🏽
Come and lie down, you know your body wants to🙌🏽🙏🏽💆🏽♀️
