Richmond is a home away from home, offering a friendly supportive environment where our residents always come first. With 40 fully furnished and decorated rooms, all with en-suite facilities equipped to the highest standard. We also propose various lounges and a peaceful private garden. There are local shops just a stone's throw away with regular activities and frequent entertainment. We offer a range of care from simple support to more complex medical and social care needs. A Very Richmond Christmas is in full swing, and what a festive week it’s been! 🎄✨

We’ve been busy ticking more magical moments off our Christmas list, and our residents have loved every minute.

On Thursday, we welcomed Reverend Karen from our wonderful local church, Holy Trinity Church, Shirebrook, for a beautiful Christmas service. The hymns, the readings and the togetherness made it such a special morning.

On Friday, we rolled up our sleeves and got our bake on filling the air with the smell of freshly baked mince pies… and yes, they tasted just as good as they looked! 🥧✨

And to finish the week on a high, yesterday we were treated to an incredible visit from the amazing Shirebrook Brass Band. Their performance filled the home with festive cheer and plenty of smiling, singing residents. 🎺🎶

Elf Day 🎄✨

Our third and final festive instalment of the day… and what a fun one it was!

The elves have officially returned to Richmond, and they’re already causing all sorts of mischief around the home. From sneaky surprises to cheeky smiles popping up in unexpected places, they’ve certainly kept us on our toes!

Today our residents enjoyed a selection of tasty festive treats, adding a little sweetness to the afternoon. We also had lots of laughs discovering our elf names, some of the results were absolutely brilliant!🤣

To top it all off, our wonderful staff got fully into the Christmas spirit and dressed up for the occasion. The colourful costumes, jingling hats and cheerful energy brought so much joy to everyone🧝

Our Christmas fun continued yesterdaywith a festive Christingle activity🕯️🍊

Our residents got creative, decorating oranges with all the traditional elements and learning about the special meaning behind each one.

There was lots of laughter, chatter, and of course, plenty of festive spirit 🎄

Kicking off A Very Richmond Christmas! 🎅🏼✨

Here’s the first of three festive updates coming your way today!

We began our Christmas activities on Monday with the loveliest visit from Brookfield Primary School Choir. The children filled our home with beautiful carols, spreading joy and festive cheer from the moment they walked in.

Our residents absolutely loved singing along, it was a lovely heart warming start to our Christmas celebrations! 🎄

Yesterday we once again turned the lounge into our very own balloon volley arena and honestly, Wimbledon has nothing on us! 🏓

There was laughter, competition, dramatic dives (well as dramatic as we get!) and plenty of cheering as everyone got stuck in.

It’s a firm favourite for a reason… big smiles, big energy, and balloons flying absolutely everywhere! 🎈🤣

On Friday we celebrated Children in Need in the loveliest way 💛

We had a wonderful visit from the children at Chestnuts, who arrived all dressed up and full of energy! They spent the morning colouring Pudsey Bear and eating tasty cupcake’s with our residents and honestly, the smiles in the room said it all ✨

There’s something really special about having little ones visit. Their laughter and endless chatter brings such life into the home. It lifts spirits, sparks memories, and gives our residents a real sense of joy and connection. It’s truly good for the soul!

Remembrance Day at The Richmond ❤️

Yesterday we came together to honour Remembrance Day. Wearing our Poppies with pride, we shared two minutes of silence together, followed by sharing old memories, delicious cakes and a good old fashioned singalong to our favourite war time songs! 🎶

A beautiful day filled with stories, smiles and remembrance.

And at the going down of the sun, we will remember them❤️🌺

Remember Remember The 5th of November 🎆🎇

We had the loveliest evening celebrating Bonfire Night a little early this year on Saturday! Our residents, and of course some of our extended Richmond family all wrapped up warm and enjoyed a cosy night of chatter, laughter and delicious food while watching the fireworks twinkle away outside!

A huge thank you to Model Chippy for kindly donating the mushy peas for our tea, they went down an absolute treat! Our residents were full of compliments as always! 🤌🏼

Earlier today we also spent some time in the kitchen baking Campfire Cupcakes and making edible sparklers. We even did some wonderful Bonfire Night crafts, making colourful fireworks from paper plates, the creativity was amazing! 🎨✨

We’d like to say a big thank you to our little chestnuts for visiting us on Halloween, all dressed up in their fantastic Halloween outfits! 🎃🕸️

Each of the children brought along a little gift for our residents, which was such a thoughtful touch and meant so much to our residents!

Of course, no Halloween visit would be complete without some treats in return, and our residents made sure the little ones didn’t leave empty handed! 🍬

Our residents always love it when the children come to visit. It brings so much joy and laughter, into our home. The sound of their giggles and the excitement in the air truly makes everyone’s day! 💖

Happy Halloween from Richmond! 🎃

We’ve had such a frightfully fun day that we’ve had to split our Halloween boo-gie into two separate posts, there’s simply too much spooky magic to fit into one! 👻✨

This afternoon was nothing short of spooktacular! The room was filled with singing, dancing, and plenty of laughter as our residents and team got into the Halloween spirit. From witches to vampires, ghosts to pumpkins, the costumes were out of this world! 🧙‍♀️

A huge thank you to our fang-tastic staff who went all out with their fancy dress, and of course, a big thank you to everyone who came along to join in the fun. It wouldn’t have been the same without you!

The Pumpkin Fun Has Begun at Richmond! 👻

Yesterday we got stuck into our pumpkin decorating!
We spent the afternoon carving, painting, and even transforming a few into gorgeous pumpkin vases to make one final masterpiece… our very own Pumpkin man for the front step! 🎃

Then today, we kept the fun going with a game of Trick or Treat Bingo! The trick? Everyone won! 🎉

It’s safe to say the Halloween spirit has well and truly taken over Richmond!
