Richmond is a home away from home, offering a friendly supportive environment where our residents always come first. With 40 fully furnished and decorated rooms, all with en-suite facilities equipped to the highest standard. We also propose various lounges and a peaceful private garden. There are local shops just a stone's throw away with regular activities and frequent entertainment. We offer a range of care from simple support to more complex medical and social care needs. International Women’s Day 🌸

Yesterday we celebrated International Women’s Day!

We created a lovely display using foot shapes, writing words that describe the wonderful ladies we have here. We chose feet because they represent what supports us through life and keeps us standing strong, just like the incredible ladies in our home.

It was a simple but meaningful activity, and it sparked some lovely conversations about strength, kindness, resilience and all the qualities that make our residents so special 💗

World Book Day Part 2 📚

Following on from our world book day post yesterday, we also had a very special visit from the children at Earlybirds.

We all gathered around in the lounge with for story time and even had some delicious cakes made especially for our residents by the children too which was a lovely treat!🍰

Today our residents enjoyed a wonderful visit from the children all dressed up in their world book day outfits!

Our staff even joined in the fun dressing up as Where’s Wally, it’s safe to say they didn’t take much searching for!😂

St David’s Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Yesterday we celebrated St David’s Day here at Richmond and what a lovely day it was!

We marked the occasion with some themed word searches and spent some time colouring in beautiful daffodils. Did you know the daffodil is the official flower of Wales? 🌼

To top it all off, we even baked delicious Welsh cakes ready for our evening snack!

Eyes down, dabbers ready… it was bingo time at Richmond yesterday! 🎉

Lots of concentration, a bit of friendly competition and plenty of laughs along the way.

Our residents love a good game of bingo, It keeps the mind active, brings everyone together. Of course, there were a few “was that 68 or 86?” moments too!😂

National Banana Bread Day 🍌

We never need much of an excuse to get baking at Richmond, but National Banana Bread Day was the perfect reason to roll up our sleeves and get started.

The house smelt of delicious banana bread as we mixed, mashed and baked our way through the afternoon. We made as many loaves as we could possibly fit in the oven, and of course everyone enjoyed a well earned slice once they were ready🍞

Balloon volley never gets old here at Richmond! 🎈

It’s one of our absolute favourite games to play together, whether it’s a gentle tap or a competitive volley across the room, the whole lounge is filled with laughter!

It’s a wonderful way to keep active while having fun, and it always sparks a bit of friendly rivalry between both residents and staff 😂

Happy Valentine’s Day, from our home to yours ❤️

What a truly wonderful afternoon we had celebrating love at our Valentine’s Day Ball.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. Your support and presence means the world to us.

And of course, a very special thank you to Ami from Bluebird Entertainment who once again delivered a fantastic afternoon of music.

The singing, the dancing and the smiles said it all. Our residents truly had a ball and loved every minute🫶🏼.

Afternoon Tea 🫖

On Friday, we had the pleasure of attending a lovely afternoon tea dance at our local leisure centre, and what a treat it was.

Our residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with delicious food, great music and of course plenty of dancing. There were smiles all round as toes tapped, hands clapped and memories came flooding back from dancing days gone by 💃 🕺

We are so grateful to Shirebrook Leisure Centre for putting on events like this and welcoming us along. Experiences like these mean so much to our residents and always leave us with happy hearts and wonderful memories to treasure 💛

Dignity Day at Richmond 🍃

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to our Dignity Day coffee morning. It was so lovely to spend the morning together and share some really special moments.

A huge thank you as well to our residents’ families and our local community. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we now have a lovely new drinks machine which kept everyone refreshed throughout the morning. We truly appreciate all of the support you continue to give us🫶🏼☕️.

We also took some time to talk about what dignity means to each of us. Our residents wrote their thoughts onto leaves which are now displayed on our very own Dignity Tree, a beautiful reminder of the care, respect and kindness at the heart of Richmond!

We are looking for a caring and reliable Cook to join our team at Richmond Care Home. The role involves preparing nutritious, home cooked meals for our residents, taking pride in presentation, and catering for dietary needs and preferences.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, good kitchen hygiene standards, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team in a caring environment.
