Rose Haddon Counselling Person Centred/ Integrative Counsellor About me

Welcome,

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Warm regards

Rose

It may be that you are finding life difficult at the moment and just need a space to talk freely. It may also be that you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and feel you need a safe space to explore this. There may have been an event in your past or more recent future that troubles you. Alternately you may have goals and aspirations that you want to achieve but are not sure how. Counselling can offer you a non-judgemental space to explore all aspects of how you are feeling, in your own time at your own pace. I am a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor here to help. What I can offer
Providing empathy, understanding and confidentiality I hope we can build a relationship with trust that will enable you to feel comfortable to express your needs. I like to work with my clients in a collaborative way to ensure they are getting what they want from their sessions. I look forward to working alongside you with whatever you bring. Looking for the right therapist for you can feel confusing and daunting. Please feel free to contact me to chat more about what I can offer you and what your expectations are around counselling. It may be that you are not sure what you want but know that now is the time to find out. Any questions you have are welcome when you are ready. What I have experience working with

I have experience in working with the following:

anxiety
depression
addiction
body image and eating disorders
self-harm
bereavement/ Loss
relationship issues
trauma
During our initial session and throughout your counselling we can talk further about your expectations around counselling and what you want from your time. Training, qualifications & experience

My academic journey
I started my academic career studying social sciences at college and then moved on to study Criminology and Psychology at Brighton University. It was here that I realised that rather than assessing clients I wanted to be part of the therapeutic process. I started studying counselling at Level one and continued through to Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, becoming fully qualified. Working ethically
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore abide by their code of ethics while working. Continued Study
I am always looking to learn more and improve my skills. I have completed further studies (CPDs) on Anger management, bereavement, addiction and working with dreams. I continue to study areas to improve my practice

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Mental health benefits of a 20 minute walk on a beautiful day like this…..

- can help to bring you out of fight or flight but reducing cortisol (stress hormone)

- mental clarity, increases blood grow to the brain and this helps with cognition, focus and memory.

- helps manage anxiety through calming sensory input (especially in nature) also the rhythmic movement of walking helps regulate your breathing calling your body.

- Just 20 minutes of walking can boost levels of endorphins- the “happy hormone”.

Might not solve all your problems and magically make@you feel better but hey….What a day for giving it a go ☀️

Are you looking for external permissions, validation or closure?
Waiting on someone else’s decisions or wanting to hear from them?

How can you find peace, a way to move forward without others?

Could you find a way to offer that to yourself?

This means burnout for me.

This means the opposite of what my old coping mechanisms were. This means looking after myself, more gym, more meditation and more self compassion.

Listening to those old coping mechanisms is tempting, there are other ways to feel better. Therapy can help you explore that

Why would I ask you this as a therapist?

Tracking and tracing our unhelpful patterns of behaviour can lead us back to the source of when this may have been a useful response to what was going on around us. From there we can look at how helpful it is now. Compassionate and curious exploration of this can help you change how we see ourselves and others around us ♥️
