NHS England reported 3,890 ingrown toenails presented at A&E last winter. Whilst out shopping here are a few pointers to ensure your child gets the correct supportive shoes for their growing feet.

👣 the toe box is wide enough and deep enough to wriggle their toes
👣 ensure you still have a thumbnail width at the toes
👣 the heel doesn’t rub
👣 the fastening can be adjusted
👣 it has a comfortable arch support

⚠️ please keep this in mind for both school shoes AND sports shoes too.
