is the founder of and a former Royal Marine Commando who served on frontline operations during Operation Herrick 12 in Afghanistan (2010). Serving as point man, he carried responsibility for identifying threats and making rapid decisions under extreme pressure. His actions were recognised with the American Bronze Star with Valor, awarded for heroic achievement in combat, making him the sixth British recipient in UK history. He was also Mentioned in Dispatches, named Royal Marine of the Year 2011, runner-up Reservist of the Year 2011, and received formal recognition from HM The Queen.
Dan later completed the Junior Command Course (2013) and undertook specialist training in Arctic warfare and Mobile Air Operations. Following his military career, he developed complex PTSD as a result of combat experiences and the loss of close friends and colleagues. For several years, alcohol was used as a coping mechanism. Through private support and deliberate mindset work, he reframed his recovery as post-traumatic growth, using the same principles that had sustained him on operations. PTSD is not treated as a limitation in his work, but as a source of strength and understanding.
Alongside recovery, Dan built and sold a successful business before committing fully to endurance sport and mountaineering. He has completed multiple 100-mile and 100 km ultramarathons, Ironman-distance events, and undertakes annual self-supported alpine mountaineering expeditions worldwide. He is currently preparing to take part in the Full Arctic Spine Race 2026. These experiences underpin the ARC Method, translating awareness, resilience, and commitment into practical tools for life beyond survival.
