It threads through every avenue I deliver. Strong Mums and every parent and baby class is always about giving you the tools to exercise anywhere, to know your own body, know what feels good and doesn’t, advocate for yourself even if the instructor doesn’t know how to adapt- you do.

My Personal Training is designed to help you make informed choices, know how to select the exercises and weights you want to lift, so if I’m not there, you’ve got this!

My background coaching works to be the missing compassionate piece for you, not to tell you off, because I know you already are, but to give perspective and always show you the choices you have

As a PE teacher this was important to me too, and as a mum.

In a world where we’re told what to do and how to do it, we’re losing touch with our own wants, needs, desires and we’re forgetting how to advocate for them.

In case you need it here’s your permission slip to change the exercise in a class because it suits your body better, to sit down a little longer and rest, to go for a wee because you’re about to per your pants, to shift into child’s pose because honestly you’re knackered!

In my view, our bodies should be celebrated for what they do every single day to keep up actually here! Exercise should be a celebration of this, now and into your future. A way of making sure you’re functioning now and as we age.

I also understand that it took me some work to get there, that not everyone even knows this approach to personal training (or even life) is available and that the noise and pressure can be too much and force some of us to opt for something, anything that will help us feel better.

Will be over here campaigning for us to all know our inherent worth though, one step at a time 😘

The recommendations have always felt unrealistic. They try to encompass everyone, but I’m not sure there’s a case anywhere that we can make one statement to benefit everyone. There’s always nuance. I make it my job to work with the nuance every time.

The main thing about regular exercise is to make it regular!

So start with something, anything, that you enjoy and go from there.

No rushing! Play the long game, it might not be as shiny and interesting but it’s going to have the biggest impact!

MY Mondays- I vowed as my littlest walked into school for her first day. Mondays will be MY days.
I’ve dabbled, had coffee catch ups, tax return ☑️, some days where I was so shattered I blobbed about at home but this one was my first proper ‘what do I want to do?’ Monday and it was gorgeous! I went for a solo walk, not to get the steps in but to get the headspace in. I said ‘good morning’ to every single person I saw 😂 it’s like it’s a law when you’re being ‘outdoorsy!’ But then not allowed in the streets 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sat at the top for a while and chatted to an elderly gentleman, also sat alone and watched the clouds roll in around me.
Being on top of Mountains is officially my happiest place and one massive reset that my body needed!
