Did you know the Sun causes...
Skin aging
Hyperpigmentation

Heat stroke

While most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot for too long, there are health risks. The main risks posed by a heatwave are dehydration, overheating (which can make symptoms worse for people who already have problems with their heart or breathing), heat exhaustion and heatstroke.

Ensure you follow these precautions to keep yourself cool:

Stay in the shade between 11am and 3pm when the sun will be at its hottest

Wear sunscreen with a SPF rating of 30 or more. Apply it 20 minutes before going in the sun, and reapply at regular intervals

Wear light, loose-fitting cotton clothes and a wide brimmed hat if going out in the sun

Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration

Avoid physical exertion where possible

Close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler and remember it may be cooler outdoors than indoors
Keep windows that are exposed to the sun closed during the day, and open windows at night when the temperature has dropped

Stay safe in the Sun and look after your skin...it is the largest organ in your body after all!

We are back open! It feels good to be up and running again. We are thankful to all our customers who will be keeping us on our toes as we are rammed. Extended opening hours to evenings and weekends are now a necessity. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
