🗓️ Are your child’s vaccines up to date?

👩‍👩‍👧 With measles cases on the rise across England, we’re urging you to check that your children are up to date with their measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox (MMRV) vaccinations. Recent data from the UK Health Security Agency shows 96 measles cases in England since 1 January 2026, with 79 in just the last four weeks. The West Midlands has already seen 25 confirmed cases this year – a sharp increase compared to last year.

🤔 Measles can lead to complications such as ear and chest infections, fits, diarrhoea and dehydration in younger children. On rare occasions, it can lead to serious problems including meningitis, blindness and hearing loss. In a small number of cases, measles can even be fatal.

👩🏻‍⚕️ It’s never too late to catch up on missed vaccination doses. Just check your child’s red book and contact your GP surgery.

Children under 6 are now routinely offered the MMRV vaccine as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme.

MMRV replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will contact you when your child is due.
