🧑‍🍳We made our 1940's All Bran cake today, working together to measure and mix ingredients, read instructions, and share baking stories. The residents have produced three cakes, which taste fantastic, and will be shared along with a cuppa! And of course, we dressed up!🌺A big thank you to Nina, who is helping out with activities in the absence of our Ann.😊

🇬🇧🌺Continuing our 1940's week, today we had our street party in Reabrook lounge, where the residents were served by the land girls. A 1940s picnic lunch including jam sandwiches, boiled egg, and bread and butter pudding, with corned beef hash for tea. Residents then relaxed listening to 1940s music.🌺Tomorrow we are baking 1940's All-Bran cake 😋

🌺It is the start of our 1940's week! Today we dressed up in 40's clothing, and had a wonderful time looking at WWII memorabilia including police hats, newspapers, Womens magazines and ration books. Residents shared wonderful stories about carrying gas masks to school on their backs, eating dried egg, rations, stockings, and grandparents who were ARPs in the local area!

🪇We had our young gentleman from Pontesbury Project join us today again, to do some work experience. He made some more poppies for us for our display, then he played percussion whilst his job coach played the ukulele for us! We had a wonderful afternoon singing sea shanties, Elvis, you name it! What fun (even the dog had a dance!)🪇

🌺We have been making poppies today and talking about Remembrance Sunday. We will have our poppies on display for our 1940's commemoration week next week. Residents were also reminiscing about making All-Bran cake, whilst enjoying a piece of bara brith, and we decided we would make it next week during our 1940's baking day!🌺
