Say Hello to Sharon! π©ββοΈππ
' Sharon and I presently work for Morris Care as a peripatetic nurse. I have worked for over 30 years within social care and nursing, starting out as a healthcare assistant within a nursing home in 1992. My career has been wonderful and diverse from being selected as only one of 25 student nurses, to represent student nurses for the West Midland at the yearly congress for the ACN and meeting Nancy Roper; to embarking on a project in 2010, looking at the needs of people with learning disability, which led me to winning a national award in 2011 for Practise & Service Development - PCPLD Palliative Care for people with Learning Disability. I have developed many skills over that time as a nurse, as I have had the opportunity to work in the community as a regional nurse manager, community nurse specialist and within hospice inpatient units. This has enabled me to effectively plan care and address the needs of residents with long term conditions and complex health needs.
I have had the privilege to work with some wonderful nurses and doctors in my time who have empowered me to develop and increase my knowledge. I am honoured to be able to work in Morris Care, sharing my knowledge and skills with my colleagues, especially on International Nurses Day.' π«Άπ
