I’ve been asked to help set up some projects in Colombia. This latest collaboration is with a group of indigenous women from the Muisca, family clans from the Bosa region of Bogotá. I’d really appreciate if you would like and share this page. Thanks.

EVIL BONE WATER - Limited stocks available for £32, collection only.

Evil Bone Water (or Zheng Xie Gu Shui) is a potent topical herbal liniment used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is used for external applications to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and aid in the healing of injuries. The product is a handcrafted version of a traditional 500-year-old formula.
Common uses
• Injury relief: Used by athletes and martial artists to accelerate the recovery from sports-related injuries, including strains, sprains, bruises, and broken bones.
• Chronic pain: Provides relief for ongoing musculoskeletal issues such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint pain, and muscle cramps.
• Inflammation: Works to decrease inflammation and swelling.
• Skin irritations: Used as a topical treatment for insect bites and certain skin conditions.
• Topical anesthetic: Can provide a mild numbing effect when applied to the skin.
Key ingredients
The formula includes a blend of high-quality Chinese herbs extracted into a grain alcohol base. Key ingredients include:
• San/Tian Qi (Notoginseng): Reduces swelling, alleviates pain, and stops bleeding.
• Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root): Provides anti-inflammatory benefits.
• Gui Pi (Cinnamon Bark): Promotes circulation and relaxes muscles.
• Hu Zhang (Japanese Knotweed Root): Invigorates the blood and helps with bruising and sprains.
• Zhang Nao (Camphor) and Bo He Nao (Menthol): Act as topical analgesics with heating and cooling properties.
• Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma): Helps alleviate pain and reduce swelling.
Evil Bone Water is for external use only.

As it’s mental health awareness week…..mental and emotional health conditions are some of the most common issues I treat daily in clinic - and most patients feed back how helpful acupuncture is to their stability and recovery. It’s a real shame not enough funding is available to do enough research to compete with some of the pharmaceutical companies. Here, at least, is some ‘hard’ evidence.

Back pain was one of the conditions included in a large systematic review, along with osteoarthritis of the knee, neck pain, migraine, tension headache, and shoulder pain.

As far as we are aware, this is the largest high-quality systematic review that evaluates acupuncture for any condition. In summary, the Acupuncture for Chronic Pain: Update of an Individual Patient Data Meta-Analysis is the most reliable assessment of acupuncture to date.

For the above chronic pain conditions the review found:
• acupuncture is superior to ‘no acupuncture controls’
• acupuncture is superior to placebo
• the clinically relevant effects of acupuncture on chronic pain persist overtime
• referral for acupuncture treatment is a reasonable option for chronic pain patients

The British Acupuncture Council is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, therefore GPs are permitted to refer patients to BAcC registered practitioners.

We have research fact sheets for back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, facial pain, headache, fibromyalgia plus more on our website.

*A reduction in pain of 50% or more.
**Other treatments: medication or physio therapy or exercise and advice.

The evidence summaries produced by Evidence Based Acupuncture are fully referenced literature reviews of the most up to date evidence for acupuncture in a variety of clinical areas. We draw on up to date systematic reviews and basic science research and include discussions of popular treatments for these same conditions.
