Osteopathy isn't just about bones or the back, it focuses on the joints, muscles, ligaments, and bones and the way that these inter-relates with the body as a whole. At our practice at Frogpool Manor (on the border of Chislehurst & Sidcup) we offer both structural and cranial osteopathy. Osteopathic treatment is suitable for all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly. Osteopaths diagnose and treat problems that occur due to injury, stress or disease, to enable the body to work as efficiently as possible, thus allowing the body to restore itself to normal function. The techniques we use vary from soft tissue massage, mobilisation, and joint manipulation, to very gentle techniques such as Cranio-sacral therapy. This variety of techniques allows us to work with all age groups and affecting many problems. Please contact me - PM or phone 07474521329 if you are not sure if osteopathy is right for you. I am happy to chat through your concerns and symptoms.

When Ankles “Go”… It’s Not Always the Same Story

For some people, an ankle “goes” during sport — usually a sudden twist on a planted foot. It can be so frustrating trying to get your ankle strong enough to get back to what you love.

For others, it’s something as small as a mis‑step off a curb or a trip down a step that spells disaster.

And here’s something many people don’t realise: ankle ligaments are incredibly strong. So strong, in fact, that it’s often the small bony lump on the outside of the ankle that gives way first — known as an avulsion fracture.

This time last year, six of my patients had exactly that. Each one needed support through their healing journey — not just for the ankle itself, but for everything else that had started compensating. Legs, pelvis, back… the whole chain can get involved when an ankle isn’t happy.

Once the fracture had healed, treatment focused on helping the ankle, foot and leg regain comfortable movement and confidence again.

Whether it’s a “simple” sprain or a more significant injury, osteopathy offers a supportive approach to help you move more comfortably as things settle.

Flu, Coughs & Colds Everywhere… Half‑Term Won’t Help

With flu, coughs and colds doing the rounds — and half‑term adding an enthusiastic layer of germ‑sharing — it’s no surprise so many people are feeling congested, foggy, and generally slowed down. When your head feels blocked, everything from your thought processes to your daily routine can feel that bit heavier.

Osteopathy can offer gentle support by helping the body move and drain more comfortably.

That might include easing tension through the neck and upper chest, encouraging better fluid movement, and working with the lymphatic system to help it do what it’s designed to do.

Small changes in how your body moves can sometimes make day‑to‑day life feel a little clearer and lighter — especially when the winter bugs are making their presence known.

If you’re feeling a bit “stuck” this season, you’re definitely not alone. Drop me a message here or on What's App to book an appointment on 07474521329, or pop online https://osteotherapyhub.co.uk/book-an-appointment/

Osteopathy Isn’t One‑Size‑Fits‑All — And That’s the Point

No two people walk through the door with the same body, the same history, or the same preferences — so no two treatment plans should ever look the same.

For some, treatment might involve firmer massage techniques, joint mobilisations, or the classic “crack” (which is simply a type of joint manipulation some people find helpful).

For others — especially those who are younger, older, or simply prefer a gentler approach — functional or cranial techniques may be more appropriate.

It all comes down to you: your health, your comfort levels, your goals, and your story.

This is why I spend time on your case history. Understanding your background, your day‑to‑day life, and what feels right for you helps me tailor a treatment plan that genuinely supports your needs.

Every week I’m reminded of just how many different walks of life come through the clinic door.
In the past few days alone, I’ve seen engineers, teachers, parents, students, carers, office workers, tradespeople, creatives, healthcare professionals — and so many more.

It’s one of the things I love most about this work: every person brings their own story, their own daily demands, and their own version of “what life feels like in their body.”

It’s this mix of people, routines, and experiences that keeps clinic life so engaging. No two days — or two patients — are ever the same.
Whether someone spends their day on their feet, at a desk, on a building site, in a classroom, or caring for others, everyone deserves to feel comfortable and supported in their everyday movement.

No need to mention the moaning — just hand them the voucher and smile innocently.

Hip Pain Comes in Many Forms — Osteopathy Can Support Them All

Hip pain doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some people are managing arthritic hips, others feel restricted or “stuck” through the hip and pelvis, and some are navigating life after a hip replacement. Different stories, different bodies — but all equally valid and worth addressing.

Osteopathy offers a gentle, individual approach to understanding how your hip, pelvis, and surrounding areas are moving. For some, that means improving mobility and easing stiffness. For others, it’s about supporting strength, balance, and confidence in everyday movement. And for those post‑surgery, it can be about helping the body adapt, move comfortably, and feel more coordinated as things settle.

Whatever stage your hips are in — dysfunctional, arthritic, or post‑surgical — even if the approach is individual, the goal is always the same: helping you move with more ease in day‑to‑day life.

If your hips have been feeling tight, achy, or simply “not quite right,” you’re not alone. Give me a call 07474521329 or pop online to book an appointment https://osteotherapyhub.co.uk/book-an-appointment/

Shoulder pain is one of those things that really doesn’t care how old you are.
I see it in teenagers glued to revision books (or technology), adults juggling work and family life, grandparents lifting little ones — and everyone in between.

Different ages, different lifestyles… same shoulder saying, “Excuse me, I have thoughts.”

But that doesn’t mean the causes are the same, or that everyone needs the same treatment or exercise plan.

As an Osteopath, I look at how your shoulder and upper body are moving, explore what might be contributing to the discomfort, and help you find ways to feel more at ease in everyday life. Osteopathy is always tailored to the individual — never a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.

Whatever age or stage you’re in, your shoulders deserve to feel comfortable.
