🌿 Tinnitus Awareness 🌿 (Not that we need a week to focus on our tinnitus!!) Our founder Emily has suffered with tinnitus for some time so knows all too well how it feels. But there are options! So what is tinnitus? 👇

🌿Tinnitus is the name for hearing noises that are not caused by an outside source.

🌿The main symptom of tinnitus is hearing a noise, such as ringing, buzzing, whooshing, your pulse and hissing. These can range from being background noise worse in silence or incredibly invasive.

🌿Trying to stay relaxed and distracting yourself from the sounds you hear can help with tinnitus. Think of the noise as your friend not your foe. Talking therapies may help if this does not work.

🌿 It's not always clear what causes tinnitus. It's often linked with hearing loss, other conditions like Ménière's disease, anxiety or depression.

🌿 If you're suffering with the noises in your head like 1 in 8 other people are, then we have some options.

💚 Wax removal may help to reduce those sounds by removing the blockage if there is one
💚 A hearing test to see if there is a cause, which we can then help with or refer onto ENT. All new onset tinnitus needs investigation first and foremost.
💚 Counselling/ Talking Therapies can help change your relationship with your tinnitus
💚 Hearing Aid dispensing, if your sounds are caused because of a hearing loss, aids can help!
